I never heard that about the shield before. I have only heard great things and only had good experiences myself. It passed the NYPD 5000 round 124 +p gold dot test and a few thousand have been through our range without a problem.
But I’ve been out for about 3 years, things could have changed.
That would be nice. I'd be happy to have a .40 cal Shield, if I trusted them.

I have a hellcat and p365 but I primarily carry a CZ p10s. Just bought the shield plus. My original shield and shield 2.0 were absolutely flawless for thousands are rounds. I purchased those both when they first came out and have never had a single malfunction out of either. I’m sure this will be the same. I always said when the shield caught up in capacity I’d carry one again. Well here it is...I’ll put a couple hundred rounds through it tomorrow then carry it in rotation with the CZ. So short anwser to your question, between the 2 I’d pick the shield plus unless it has something wrong with it. There are millions of shields in the wild with nothing really to report so I doubt it will.

I like the trigger on the Hellcat better than the one on the Sig. The other guns I havn't shot. The trigger on the 365 is too light and I don't want a striker fired gun with a thumb safety. The only gun that has a good safety for a carry gun is a 1911 typde gun meant to9 be carried cocked and locked with a positive thumb safety that you train to use consistantly and instinctively and it gives you the added bonus of a single action trigger.

...for carry.
What is your overall EDC preferences between Hellcat and Shield Plus?
Hellcat.
I have Hellcat and Shield and both are easy to conceal, but the Plus more like a Glock 19.
If you're thinking the Shield Plus, it does not compare with the Hellcat - apples and oranges.
I would be more prone to compare the Plus to a Glock 19 or a 26 with Pearce grip extensions.
Hellcat has more felt recoil and the grip angle is like a 1911.
Shield Plus is easier to shoot, harder to conceal.

If you like the hellcat’s trigger wait until you try the shield plus. It’s like my hellcats trigger AFTER I installed the apex trigger.

Are you referring to the 4” variant? I wouldn’t even compare the 3.1” shield to my 43x. It’s like the p365 with a 12 round mag or XL frame but with a better grip imo. At least I can conceal it as good or better then any of my Glocks but esp my 19.

My mistake - I was thinking the Performance Center Shield Plus. Forgot about the smaller Shield Plus.

Hey brother, no worries. I actually held the 4” performance center in my hand today and I even thought to myself “for this I’d carry the p10s”. And that is only a little smaller then the G19.

My 3.1” Shield will probably replace the 365/hellcat because they are so similar but the Shield is such a soft shooter. Now that it actually has a great trigger from the factory and comparable capacity...for me it’s a win esp with it’s proven track record.

Having carried neither, but handled several Shields and Hellcats and just recently purchased the Hellcat, I'd say get the one that fits your hand best and has the trigger you like best. (Hopefully, it will be the same gun.) These two and the P365 obviously fill the same niche and all appear to be quality guns. I think it really comes down to grip / ergos (including grip length w/the mag you will carry as that is the part of the gun that will tend to print), trigger & sights being the factors that should decide the matter for you. Well, that's what decided the matter for ME, so of course, it should apply to everyone, right?

SS P365XL > Hellcat.

G43X > S&W M&P.

CZ P10 S is too big for what you get.

Period.
I have every one of those pistols. While everybody has their own opinions, I disagree with that order. The 365 XL and p10s are the exact same size. The XL is a little thinner (by .16mm which is nothing) but the p10s has a far superior build quality. You get to keep your rear sight to cowitness/better trigger/ergos/grip texture. CZs build quality is only matched by H&K and Walther. The p10s is the softest shooter of the bunch. Accuracy is debatable between it and the XL but I shoot it the best by a substantial amount. IF you can conceal and XL or 43x you can conceal the p10s. Period...
The M&P shield PLUS has a better build quality and now has the same capacity as all the others and a better trigger then them as well. Simply put smith and Wesson is better then Springfield. S&W also has a utterly reliable track record like Glock I would say. The 43x is actually bigger then all of them and why I don’t carry it. Here are the pictures for you

I hope Walther will come out with a higher capacity PPS too.
Me too. The PPS M2 is a solid, ergonomic pistol. Still larger and heavier than 365/Hellcat though. Hoping they can shrink whatever new they can come up with. If they only increase the capacity but it's the same size/weight I will pass.

The euro pistols seem to have a hard time with the micro variant. C10s, vp9sk, ppq sc...the p10m “micro” is a no go for me.
