Please move if this is in the wrong forum.
I was looking at rebuilt G40 Glocks.
Several places were already sold out, and a place called Dack Outdoors had a couple left.
They were a little but cheaper. $15??? But they were the only one's with them in stock.
I ordered on Dec 11th.
Got an email a few days later saying it was being processed, and still haven't heard from them.
Their motto on their site is "We're not your huckleberry. It can take 30 + days to fill an order".

Other places have said allow 3-4 weeks, but never took that long.

Anybody else bought from them?
Are they legit?

Thanks

Never heard of them.

Did Doc Brown help you go to the future to order from them?

Here is some internet chatter though.

Seems to be hit or miss. Most seem to say they got their stuff but it took a while.

That's what I've seen.
A few really brag on them, and I think that's just their friends.

I checked 2 other places, and within an hour they were sold out.
It makes me wonder if these pistols are allotted 2 or 3 to each dealer.

Do people just Google up a store and order stuff from them? There are about 5 well-established, well-known gun shops online that I will buy from and most of them are places I have been to in real life (Bud's, KY Gun Co.) or ordered from before the internet (Brownells). The others are Midway USA and Palmetto State Armory.

There is a place called gun-deals
https://gun.deals/

I've bought many guns from their listed vendors, and neve had a problem.

I bought a gun laste Wednesday from "Not Just Guns".
It came in today and was a screaming deal.

Bud's Gun shop and Palmetto are both out of Glock G40s.

Ky gun has one, but it's almost $200 more , and that's before shipping and taxes.

The company's that were in this range , sold out quickly.

As far as searching no name companies, I was told back in 2009, that Palmetto was a scam.
They were a new company and several people said they didn't trust them.

They sure didn't take 30 days to ship, though.

Forums are a good place to vet a source. There’s some legit businesses out there to go along with a myriad of scam artists too. The more we communicate about them, the better off we’ll all be.

So many that are hit or miss seem to be home based businesses. Tempering wait times is a must. In your particular cases, it looks like Dack is up front about it and the chatter on forums substantiates that. It’s whether the juice is worth the squeeze in terms of saving money

I'll let you know how it pans out.
30 days and telling me that is ok.
As I dig deeper, some reviews are saying 48+ days with no communication.

I knew if they accepted a regular credit card, I wouldn't get ripped off.
I had placed a pistol of similar price in my cart at Guns.com.
By the time I sent my dealers ffl, they were sold out.
They wouldn't let me purchase it until they had an ffl.

Same with maybe Aim.surplus, I think ?
They sold out while I had it in my cart amd waiting on the ffl I sent to be approved.

I used to buy a few guns a year from Summit Gun Works.

Last spring , my buddy ordered a shotgun, and never heard anything.
He got a refund on his credit card.

Apparently, Summit was sold out to someone else.
Then, they went out of business.

I don't mind the 30 that they tell you upfront, I don't the 'over 48 days ' that reviews are saying.
The replies from Dack, aren't denying it.
They are apologizing.

I have bought from Dack outdoors many times.

Saying their shipping is slow is a serious understatement.

I think they sit on every order for 3 weeks before they even decide to look at it.

Then 4 or 5 employees play the 'your turn you take it, no no your turn you take it' for another week

One of those employees eventually says ok I will take it, then they go make lunch, take a ****, play with their dog, go on vacation and come back and put your order in a box

but then they let the box sit on the floor for another week before they drop it off at the shipping department.

When the shipping department gets it, it takes them another week to put a label on it and ship it.

They charge your credit card the minute you place the order
Customer service is also slow if they reply at all

I do not think that Dack is dishonest (even though I see lots of reviews coming to that conclusion) because I have received mayeb 5-6 orders from them over the years, just REALLY PAINFULLY SLOW

Its worth paying 10% more if you need it faster. If you are just stocking up on someting because their price is good and don't need it, then order and age gracefully, it will eventually show.

Thanks. That's the confirmation

That's the confirmation I needed.
They keep sending me $25 off codes and free shipping.
I guess they are 'Don't care' slow.
I bought a glock G21 a couple of years ago from a company that had great reviews.
After 20 days, they said it wasn't in stock anymore.
Then, when they got it back in stock, it was $75 higher.
They said there would be a 5% restocking charge, and only give me store credit .
I had to contact my credit card company , and they got me a full refund.

I was worried this was another deal like that.
That other company closed not long after that.

Thanks again for the reassurance that I will get my pistol.

I was just thinking about this, the last thing I ordered from them was Hornday 140 grain ELD bullets.

Their price with shipping was 10%-15% lower than anyone else I could find at the time (and I am pretty decent at finding deals) I had enough bullets left in inventory to load what I shoot in a year, I just like to have extra on hand at all times, especially an election year (turned out not to be an issue this year)

anyway, I ordered (5) 100 packs of bullets, it took about 40 days to show, so long I forget I even orderd them :D so when they arrived I wasn't expecting anything, I was like cool, I got bullets!

I would order from them again, if my scenario was like the bullets Need eventually but do not need right now today. I am a patient person, so it doesn't bother me (and I like to get a deal).

#16 · (Edited)
Yeah, if they had told me 40 days, and it shows up at 43 days that's ok.
I just don't like being lied to.
After they didnt respond to any emails, they lost a deal for my wife's G19X that came in today.
I bought a Sig MCX last week , from another place.
Plus , a couple of AR uppers.

I might go ahead and buy some bullets for reloading, etc and use the $25 coupon and free shipping.
Thanks again for the info.

While I thank you for the link, that doesn't really help me.
I don't have an account there.
As I mentioned earlier, while I was searching and sending FFL copies ,the other places were selling out.
One sold the Glock, while it was in my cart.
I clicked your link and get this:

I’ve dealt with them in the past. Communication was kinda slow, and shipping was even slower. If you’re on a right budget they can be a good resource.

As the old saying goes, there is price, quality and speed; choose 2.
Cannot have all 3, ever.

My 2¢

Ed
Thanks for confirming they aren't a scam .
I may order some extra mags with the free shipping a d discount codes.

It's like ordering ebay stuff that comes from a foreign country.
Some things take 3 months and has to sit in customs for a while.
As long as they ship before 30 days, I'm ok with that.

#26 ·
I ordered something from them a few years ago. Took a good month for it to be delivered. They're not kidding when they say they don't have fast shipping. I haven't used them since.

I thought I would try this DACK only because the prices were competitive and they had a free shipping deal. I wish I had paid attention to all those negative reviews. Some review sites have more 1-star ratings for Dack Outdoors than 2,3,4 or 5 stars combined. My experience is the same. I would give them zero stars if I could because of the lies and awful/horrendous customer support along with shady practices make this a place to avoid. I was willing to wait the 30 days for shipment they claim is necessary but we are now over 40 days and the lies continue. Further, they offended me by playing on feelings and emotions with stolen Christian valor saying how they are a Christian family company and that their number one priority is glorifying god. That is the biggest load of crap of all. I have been treated more Christian-like by devil worshipers than this so-called Christian company. Please do not be deceived and do yourself a favor DO SOME RESEARCH ON DACK OUTDOORS BEFORE YOU BUY. Otherwise, you will be just like me, disappointed, frustrated, feeling cheated, and still waiting for your order to be shipped. It is so bad I would not buy from this company again even if I could get a 80% discount! That is how bad it is. Please do not be foolish and check out some reviews before you give Dack Outdoors your business. I guarantee you will be happier and be taken much better care of doing business elsewhere.

Just joined to weigh in on Dack Outdoors--their business model is collecting cancellation fees and delaying you until you can't reverse the transaction with your credit card company. If you don't believe me, sign up for their emails or just visit their website--you will get constant sales, promotions, offers, discounts. If this company has been "30 days behind" for 5+ years (look up old Reddit reviews), you'd think they would stop all of their sales for at least a couple weeks to catch up with late shipments.

Instead, DACK keeps pushing as high of sales volume as possible to collect cancellations. Try using their online chat to process a cancellation. You'll get an email soon saying your order is being processed (when their ToS says you can no longer cancel an order). This company must ship some products out to keep just enough "well I got my item" feedback, but is that worth the risk for a few bucks?

Also, Glock 19 Gen 3 for 20+ years. Digging this forum.

Spot on - its a float scam. Charge you upon order, hold funds for 30+ days. Maybe you get something, maybe not. I went a few rounds with the owner in a BBB complaint and he is an arrogant ***. I got all my money back, he got a chargeback fee and can suck it.
I was afraid that would be my situation.
I emailed and asked when they thought my order would ship, and they responded within 48 hours that it had shipped.
They must have thought I was getting ready to do something.
I'll never buy from them again.

I've read elsewhere Dack is a dropshipper. It was claimed they carry no inventory.

I ordered some hard to find magazines from them. They had a great price and made it clear it would be about 30 days before I got them. I wasn't in a hurry so I went ahead and ordered. The magazines showed up on day 30, just like they said, but I doubt I'd buy from them again if I could get what I wanted elsewhere and pay a little more.

Lokedloaded.com is a fantastic company if you want a great deal. Takes about two to three weeks from order to receipt but I’ve had other big name companies that still hadn’t shipped a month later so there’s that. It’s hard to beat the deals on lockedloaded.com. For ammo, always use ammoseek.com and read the reviews. Dack has some pretty rough feedback on there so, when someone shows you their face, do not ignore and think you will be any different.

DON'T DO DACK. Simple. They take your money, and then nothing. 30 days later you will ping them, and the same basic bull**** in reply:

"Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent order. We sincerely apologize for the delay you have experienced and truly appreciate your patience during this time. Our team is currently working diligently to resolve the situation and ensure that your order is fulfilled as quickly as possible. We understand that waiting can be frustrating, especially when it surpasses our usual 30-day timeframe. If you would prefer to cancel your order rather than continue to wait, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We would be more than happy to assist you with the cancellation process and address any other concerns you may have. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we are here to help in any way we can. Thank you once again for your understanding."

I'm now 40 days plus on some real basic products, nothing rare or hard to get, and still "processing". Search the reviews, read the reviews, and then RUN AWAY!

Dack Outdoors claims to be a Christian company who lives by principles, and so on. Well, the only principles I see is they use low prices to hook you into an order, and then if you cancel they impose a 5% fee for doing nothing. They evidently stock minimal or no items. A pure web storefront. They book orders, but the order only process once they've hit the minimum for each of their distributors who will ship the items to the customer. That way they minimize shipping expense - or perhaps even get free shipping on their end - but the customer may have to wait a long time. My order has been 30 days now, and they will NOT even give an ETA. This is what I've heard from others, but I chose to take a risk to save $18 on a pistol. Never again. Dack is a FRAUD. Buy from Locked 'N Loaded or others who have almost the same pricing, but you'll get your order in a normal time frame. Dack should be ashamed of themselves.
