How many of y'al find it hard to conceal a 19 or 23 size pistol?

I'm a relatively small guy and the butt of the gun really protrudes making it hard to conceal.

I use a trex sidecar and have no issues concealing a G26.

What position are you carrying? If back of the hip, yeah they're all more difficult to conceal. Appendix? Fits right in the groove/crease of your obliques and inner thighs (11 if left, 1 if right). It also helps to have an athletic build (8-10" bigger chest than waist).

Get a stiff gun belt. I like the ones from Beltman.net. Double horse hide with stiffener. This will help whatever you carry to stay where you put it.

Find a holster with about 15-20 degrees cant. This will pull the grip up sufficiently to not poke out backwards.

Of course, this is for 300-330 carry. The further back you go the more cant you will need. I can conceal full size glocks no problem under a t shirt like this. I don’t have any experience with appendix carry.

This is how I used to carry a full sized .357 mag revolver and later a P226 and Glock 22.

you need to cant the pistol to hide the bottom of the grip. If inside the waist, I carry in a Comp-Tac Minotaur adjusted to 30 degree angle. If outside the waist, I carry on a Glock Sport Combat that rides high and the grip disappears under the arm. like some one mentioned, it helps to have a wider chest.

It’s not difficult, but it is certainly harder than concealing a G26. I find my G19 conceals better when I move it further forward to about 2:00-2:30. Also needs more cant. It’s certainly doable. The Milt Sparks Criterion is a great holster for the G19.

I’m a slim guy, wear normal fit boot jeans and T-shirt’s (not form fitting, but not hanging). I don’t look like the typical gun carrier/cop (no 5.11, blue line, gun brand or anything like that type clothing). I carry a 19 with flush 15 round Mags in trex appendix rig without the built in mag carrier. Found it to work really well for me.

I find it's a balance between holster and clothing.

I like the Desantis Intruder (Cross Breed Supertuck copy) a lot, and it works well when I'm going to need to tuck in a shirt.

The 26 is going to conceal better, no doubt, but I think with some thoughtful decisions you can easily conceal a compact or full sized handgun like a P226/229 or G17/19.

What's your typical dress? If you're a t-shirt and jeans guy, perhaps switching to a casual button down shirt could help?

As pointed out, a lot has to do with how you normally dress. Me, I almost never tuck a shirt. Retired don't have to LOL. So concealing a G19 is easy with a good kydex holster designed specifically for the gun and with good retention.

I us a Dara with a 15 degree cant and medium ride height and carry it at 1 o'clock. Close to appendix but just slightly to the rear. The 15 degree cant allows the muzzle to clear my leg when sitting which I found a straight appendix carry configurations do not. Also, if I have particularly tight pants on, this holster will work inside the belt but outside of the pants provided your untucked shirt or jacket is long enough to cover the muzzle. For me this is usually doable.

I might point out however that since Texas legalized open carry, I worry a lot less about someone noticing I'm carrying. It's not against the law unless posted. No one has ever noticed. I think most people are not that observant unless it's in-your-face obvious. Too busy looking at cell phones I think.

This! Find what is comfortable and go with it. Seriously.
I'm using the nextbelt concealed carry canvas daily and it has shown no deformation, and it keeps either my bravo iwb, of fobus in place. I wear 3:30 or 4:00 depending on mood.

Can I conceal a 19? Yes.
Does it print? Yes.
Do I care? No.

I love the 19; however, I carry a 26. The fact is simple: the 26 is more than capable and it IS easier to conceal. 10+1 is more than adequate for me, and when I carry a reload, a G19 magazine works perfectly in that role.

Don't fall into thinking that you HAVE to carry the 19. If it doesn't conceal well, move on.

Hi there. What are your physical stats?

Frankly, depending on your work environment, and whether or not you want to hide a gun at work or have permission to carry one concealed legally changed this equation alot.

I am 5"9 160 +- lbs. Nobody cares in my current situation whether or not I have a gun while I work. I do pickup my son from school and this does impact how and what I carry and where but only very little outside of that.

So, can you tell us what your goals are? Are you looking to defend yourself up to 25m+? Or anything inside of 10 is ok?
