Harbor Freight’s $50 Tactical Weapon Light – Streamlight Clone? [Video Review]

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share something I recently picked up from Harbor Freight — the Braun 1000 Lumen Tactical Rail-Mount LED Light. At a glance, it looks like a budget clone of the Streamlight TLR-1 HL, but with a price tag of only $50, I figured it was worth checking out.

I made a quick open box and initial impressions video where I cover:

- What comes in the Packaging

- Build quality and materials

- Weight and size compared to standard WMLs

- Brightness demonstration in a dark room

- My overall thoughts on its potential use

If you’ve been curious about this light or are looking for a budget option to test out, this might be worth a look.

Let me know what you think — and if anyone else has hands-on experience with this light, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I bought this one for my two tone G-17 gen 3.
It even has the Glock Logo on the bottom.
Nice FDE color, very similar to the Streamlight TRL -1 HL.

But…..
When I got it I did a side by side check with my TRL-1HL.
Overall they are very close dimension and feature wise.
And shining both lights, the Chinese clones light is brighter than the original Streamlight TRL-1HL.

But….sure enough, after I mounted it and took it to the range with some ARMSCOR 115 gr 9mm FMJ, it turned itself OFF, after two shots.
I tried a few more times, same results, turn on shoot, light turns itself off.
It turns out, the recoil of the slide, turns the switch from the “ON” position to the “OFF” position.
(Anyone know of a quick fix)?!?

Oh well, it makes a nice flashlight, but that’s about it.
Good for finding your dropped car keys or something, but useless as a WML.
$30
I got what I paid for eh?

Update, got the E-bay Streamlight replacement switch and switched out the non working Chinese switch.
Easy peasy job, replacement Streamlight fits perfectly and now the light goes on stays on.
About $30 for the FDE Glock marked fake light, $16 for the stream light replacement switch.
Now I am good to go…. In the dark!
