Nice one built in 2003.

First thing I noticed is the Slide Stop Spring orientation. I bet the guy thought he was cleverly unloading a jammomatic. Joke’s on him

And it looks like basically everything needs upgrading. Especially the skinny Slide Lock spring, it gives me the willies. Maybe I’ll run it up to Smyrna or bring it to Talladega. The armorer should be happy to update everything for free.

I think it will be fine to run a few hundred rounds of range ammo through it, but no way would I carry it in current configuration. I almost don’t have a real use for a 19C, but I have fond memories of one I traded off years ago.

Get a new Trigger Spring and RSA.

If you want the last major enhancement to Gen3 pistols, replace the Trigger With Trigger Bar and the Trigger Mechanism Housing with current parts. After 2010, Glock started making the Gen3 TWTB and TMH with improved Trigger Spring hook attachment points designed to reduce hook failure...the most common Glock parts failure.

Congrats on a nice FPF Gen3 19C

a life of flaming sight pictures and low grip index.
Good catch. I’m certain my index would be much better with my 17 even SHO. Looking at those pics, it’s just plain awful. After getting so used to the 17 frame, a 19 feels really alien to me.

I was amazed at how much flash it produces. Folks that claim it doesn’t flash are blinking (as was I with my original 19C). I’m also impressed with how flat it keeps the muzzle. I know a good index can probably achieve the same thing, but the C ports are absolutely effective.

I keep reading that the C models don’t produce an appreciable amount of flash and that the C models don’t mitigate muzzle rise. I think both those claims are false.

Ya, it's not a summer afternoon Power Pistol kind of flash. More of a global apocalypse flash. If you can't see that you're on the low/left squad, for sure.

Nice, I had a 19c for a good while, just never shot it enough so I sold it off last year to find a 226 Legion. Was the right call for me since the only use I have for a 19 is carry and the flash/flame/noise weren't my favorite option for carry.

Also your flame pics are giving me traumatic flashbacks of a giant charging praying mantis from some science fiction films of my youth, but this one is made of FIRE

I'm sure you're aware that there are certain self defense loads available that use "low flash" powders that can help to reduce such explosive flares. I own 3 "C" model Glocks but much more prefer shooting an HK 51 and the subsequent flaming "O" rings it produces from it's short barrel and the mighty 7.62x51mm round (thanks to Wayne L. Burnham, RIP my friend)!

This was some Blazer Brass 115gr, probably loaded with something very flashy like Power Pistol. If I remember to this evening I’ll try some HST and some handloads with VVN320. Will make a slomo vid and screenshot these too.

Ok, a 19C anecdote, don't think I told you this before...

We coaxed a friend of mine who's a real solid shooter, but more of a combat guy, out to one of our club matches. All his pistol stuff is Glock. So he was a bit out of his element, and showed up with a mix/match assortment of guns, asking me what he should shoot. I told him it didn't really matter, and he said he needed to go function-test a 19.

Bang, bang, and a few minutes later he comes back to the bay I was setting up with quite a surprised look. Whips out the 19, and the dust cover was 90* to the slide. Crazy stuff, and no one had ever seen anything like this. No biggie he says, I have another lower, but I want to use this slide, because it has good sights.

So he swaps parts, and goes back to try the gun again. Bang, bang, and back he comes with another perpendicular dust cover. Now he's really got my attention. Over to the safety table, and we take the gun apart.

Sheepish look, and he says, 'Oh, I guess I probably shouldn't be using a ported barrel with a standard slide'. Fun times.
