I believe he nailed it, based on my 15 years of owning Glocks! Glocks are dependable, easy to maintain, and are affordable. However, there are now other options, that are now available.

No worries. I enjoy gun porn, and usually watch it during my lunch break in my car.

I’ve always enjoyed his content and his videos. I don’t agree with everything he says, but I appreciate his hustle

Agreed. Plus, he is shooting all types of guns, and he is a good shooter. I appreciate his live feedback, during his trigger squeezes.

It was a good video to watch.

I like Glocks because if something breaks, it is easy to find parts and fix on your own. Or, it is easy to find someone who will know how to fix it.

Also, I have the confidence that if I need something fixed, repaired, or refinished, I can rely on Glock service.

It is also easy to maintain and can run dirty in case SHTF and I can't find gun oil/cleaner. The MOS system works for me.

There are other guns that are more pleasurable to shoot (CZ steel frame), but I recommend starting with a Glock first before venturing out.

Anyone else ever read what should be a TL-DR comment and think, if I could just give them a couple of boards and three nails?

Glocks are dependable. A G21 is my bedside gun and I sometimes carry it in a Bianchi shoulder rig. But for daily carry 90% of the time it's a CZ. 9MM Glocks just don't have the right feel for me that a 9MM CZ P-01 Omega does. It's just my personal opinion. I tried a G17 and just didn't like it. I sold it for more than I paid for it, so there is that.

Pros: Generally dependable. Generally reliable. Good parts availability. Generally good track record.

Cons: Overpriced (imo due to marketing and consumer impression), inferior in some segments of the market (micro-9), lack of options that other manufacturers provide standard (night sights, choice of MS).

* Glock has fantastic marketing. I say this to their credit. They have successfully put in place a veil of mysticism about their product that isn't quite accurate i.e. 'perfection'. Also, with them having a large chunk of the LE market many feel that LE 'prefers' Glock. That actually isn't true. The average LEO doesn't care what is in their holster as long as they can qualify with it. Since Glock often provides sweetheart deals Glock is often what is in the holster. But the perception isn't the reality.

** Glock is inferior to the modern Micro-9's put out by other companies in size, capacity and options as well as variety of models and in some cases modularity.

*** At the same price point you can buy a Glock such as a G43 or 43X with limited capacity, no OEM capacity options and cheap plastic sights. While some don't mind (and that's fine) other brands offer multiple capacity options, night sights standard, modularity and consumer choice of MS or not. Other companies simply offer more, sometimes for less price.

Note in the pros I use the word 'generally'. I like Glock and have quite a few. But it is an honest appraisal that over the years they've had some serious issues, some catastrophic. Overall they provide an excellent product.

Another reason why I like Glocks is that while I have lots of different hammers with different grips, lengths, headsizes, materials, better looking, fits the hand better....etc, when it comes down to needing a hammer to successfully drive in that nail, I know which hammer I will use which is the one that has never had the head go flying off, the neck break, or any type of failure. It just works, and works for a long time. It doesn't have to have the most comfortable grip because once I'm done using it, it goes back in the toolbox. I still like having different hammers though! ;)

Even more affordable if you use their Blue-Label promotion. I bought a gen 5 G19 w/ factory nite sights last October, new in box, came with 3 mags, an hour free indoor range time & a box of FMJ ammo all for $425. Took 15 minutes from the time I walked in the door until I walked out the door with the goodies (4473 phone call took most of that time). No waiting period in WV (and people STILL ask me why I moved here 20 years ago). We’ve been a Constitutional Carry state since 2016).
