The day Glock adds a safety is the day I stop carrying one. I would’ve purchased a gun that has a safety if you want one. My wife wanted one on hers so she purchased an M&P Shield 9 EZ. A gun that is designed with one. I don’t mind someone having a safety after all it’s your gun, but I wouldn’t rely on an aftermarket one.
There was a time when a factory thumb safety was installed on the Gen 1 G17, and now they make the Glock 46 with factory thumb safety for some German law enforcement.

make up fantastical stories???? Whatever man. Go be holy to someone else.
Dont need to face it..if Glocks were meant to have them they would have them.. if they were "unsafe" without it do you think LE agencies would ever buy and equip their officers wqith a "unsafe" gun? of all the people who may be subject to your fantastical scenario..they are the group that would be.. and how many officers(in the USA) that carry glocks would you think installed their own thumb safeties..because a Glocks not safe enough without it...im absolutely CERTAIN some agency somewhere DID just this(installed thumb safeties) but out of all Glocks in all LE agencies...what % do you think added a safety? (im guessing 1% or less) .. and if a agency thought Hmm we better have a thumb safety do you think they went with Glock and added it? or got a gun like say the Sig, M&P that already had the model in their lineup that had it?

IMO get the gun with it(thumb safety) not one you have to add to it thats all.

I wouldn't trust any aftermarket safety especially from a company that went out of business but that's just me. Plenty of good guns out there with safeties designed in
Cominolli never went out of business. And you honestly believe an aftermarket company is not capable of making a quality product? You obviously have never watched any youtube videos about the Cominolli safety.

The gunsmith who installed my Glock safety has been installing Cominolli Thumb Safeties for 14 years now. He is installing them at the rate of 4 every day. Takes about 1 hour to install with his level of experience.

I looked up the G46. It’s a complete redesign of the Glock system if the article I read is correct. So it was designed with one in mind. Like I said it’s your gun I just don’t understand the appeal of a Glock to someone who requires a thumb safety when there are so many guns on the market that have them already built in. I’m not knocking you for wanting a safety though.

The Gen 1 Glock 17 had a factory thumb safety on the Glocks that were used by some European military of law enforcement at one point. I don't "require" thumb safety. Of my 6 Glocks, I chose to installed a quality thumb safety on one Glock. I don't believe I'll regret it.

Why is it so hard for people to grasp the fact that Glock was originally designed with a thumb safety along with the trigger safety? Just because Glock Inc. decided to not sell the thumb safety model in America doesn’t negate the fact that the thumb safety design was there since Day One.
Exactly.

Wasn’t there just a thread about a Glock manual safety causing problems?
I do like manual safeties. It is apparently true the they have saved lives in gun grabbing situations. Mas Ayoob has documented some.

The simplicity of the Glock manual of arms however, has become appealing to this former 1911 guy.
Having said that, I do like the Striker Control Device. It brings the Glock up to DAO revolver quality safety in administrative handling.

This thread reminds me of the when the Texas Ranger was asked about carrying his 1911 cocked and locked. Isn’t that dangerous he was asked. To which he replied hell if it wasn’t dangerous I wouldn’t be carrying it. The OP new what kind of responses he was gonna get posting this on a Glock forum so it makes me wonder about his intention.

That’s not a thumb safety. That’s the cylinder release.
I have to admit, you are correct. I shot a Korth, and honestly thought that was the safety. In my defense, it was a busy day shooting a lot of different Night Hawk guns and one Korth.

I am not a revolver guy. I own a couple of SA revolvers, but not up on the new fangled stuff.

I checked their website and it hasn’t been active since before 2020 so if they are in business they aren’t doing a very good job of promoting their products.
