If it is a later Glock, the button can be put on the other side and the trigger finger used to press the button. On some guns, it is more ergonomic and easier, depending on grip. You could play with that, see which works better.

With kydex holsters, the design mey be such that the mag release could contact the holster under certain circumstances, and release the mag. I would hesitate to make the button lighter, unless it is a range gun, also check all kydex holsters to see if there is enough clearance at that button.

I recently bought a Gen. 5 G19 from a left handed guy . He put the mag release on the opposite side. I tried it and liked it so much , I changed my G20 and G43 to the opposite side. It’s a lot easier for me to release the mag with my trigger finger than to rotate the pistol so I can use my thumb.
