I wanted to do a short review of the grip force adapter. I have owned Glock pistols for a long time and one of the biggest issues I have had in the past with any generation Glock is natural pointability of the pistol.
For whatever reason when I push the pistol out and extend my arms to shoot my front sight was consistently higher than my rear sight. I would have to mentally tell myself to lower the nose of the gun, which took milliseconds to do, but was enough time that it effected the time it took to get off that first shot. Other handguns with a more traditional grip angle like the 1911 and M&P I could close my eyes punch the gun out and the sights were aligned and the shot was quicker. Do this test with my eyes shut with a Glock pistol and I open my eyes to find my front sight sticking up in the air well above my rear sight.
For the longest time I just dealt with it because I liked everything else about the gun. I also got to a point where I thought there was something wrong with me because I hear others tell me that there is nothing wrong with the grip it's all me. No matter how hard I tried though the gun always pointed nose high.
So much for short review I know, sorry.
Then a product called the grip force adapter came along. It's a small plastic back strap with an extended tang that clipped on to any Gen 3 or Gen 4 Glock. On the surface it just looks like an extended beavertail type tang like on a 1911 and since slide bite was never an issue for me the beavertail was not the selling point, but a bonus. The real selling point for me was the fact that this little backstrap actually straightens out the backstrap of the grip and forces the nose of the gun down.
With the GFA installed I can now close my eyes, punch out to my normal shooting position, open my eyes, and my sights are now aligned making my first shot much faster.
Anyone who loves Glocks and wishes they would change the grip angle to a more traditional angle there are options available. I thought this GFA was a gimmick and just something somebody came up with to take another $20 out of my pocket, but this little grip adapter has turned my Glocks into a whole new shooting experience and I can't speak more highly for them.
If you have grip angle issues as I did please check these things out.
