Heard good things about dawson

 

The Taran TactIcal Innovations (TTI) sights are good sights and I use them on several guns, including the guns I use to compete in GSSF. The one benefit of the TTI sights, compared to the Dawson sights, is that the TTI sights are Ion Bonded, so they are more corrosion resistant. The downside of the TTI sights is that one size fits all. The benefit of the Dawson sights (which I also use on several guns) is the ability to customize them in terms of size, but they are parkerized and more prone to showing corrosion over time. A light coat of oil on the sights and you won’t have an issue. Another benefit of Dawson sights is that if you use their recommendEd heights and your gun isn’t hitting POA/POI, you can get a replacement front sight for free to get your gun zeroed. Vogel Dynamics also makes sights for the GLOCK, which are similar to the TTI sights, but Vogel uses a wider rear notch and his sights will print a little higher on target than the TTI sights.

I assume gen5 sights and gen4 have the same dove tail its just the gen 5 is thinner so the sight don't hang off the back of mos guns

I have a set of Truglo TFX pro on my Glock 19. They are fiber optic and tritium. They are bright in all lighting conditions, I really like them. I have not used any of the others.

 

I have had TruGlo TFOs on a few Glocks and liked them. I still prefer them for the nightstand guns.

For competition, I have swapped everything over to Dawson. Solid black rear and FO front. They will show corrosion, but nothing a minute with a Sharpie marker doesn’t fix.

I ordered up taran tactical sights is going a g34 poor MAN'S Wick combat blaster clone.

 

I did that for one of my Glocks and didn't like the POI
If I recall, it turned out to be a Combat Hold and I wanted to lower the POI
I like the TTI front sight design, so I ended up using a Dawson Competition rear sight to get my POI

 

Hi Viz makes a set of FO front and rear sights for Glocks. They also have a rear sight that is adjustable.
I use their front sights on my Glocks and I like them. They seem to be brighter than other FO sights I have bought or have looked at.

 

I second the Vogel dynamic sights

I like the design elements Robert Vogel put into them for faster shooting, almost similar to TTI

with fiber optic on top and bigger rear notch for faster sight acclimation

I would go for Dawson.

 

I’ve been shooting USPSA and multigun matches for about 20 years. I first tried the Dawson sights when they first came out in early to mid 2000s. I’ve tried all brands and yes the Dawson sights rust…but it’s never held me back. I made master in USPSA production with rusty sights that never failed. They seem more robust than other brands especially the front sight. It has reinforcement at the base.

I've got both Warren Tactical sights on a G19 with a green fiber optics rod in the front, black rear sight that I shoot in GSSF, and a G34 with Dawson precision target sights, red fiber optic rod in the front. On my G23 I've got Wilson Combat sights w/ a green fiber optic rod in the front, black rear sights. I believe that the Wilson's were designed by Larry Vickers. All of them are great sights!

 

TruGlo TFO's, green front and back. Great visibility in daylight, low light and no light. Use them on my EDC, HD and Competition Glocks.

 

I use Dawson on my front M&P 45c and currently I'm using the Heine Fiber Optics on my G30s, they are sharp & I like that both are serrated plus I also like that I can change out the fiber optic to a different color on these types of fiber optic front sights.

 

How do fiber optic sights work with a weapon light in a dark room does it make it glow or drowned out like night sights, for home defense

 

They’ll work like normal iron sights and the fiber won’t stand out. If you have light on the target, at worst you’ll have a silhouette of the sights that you can use to make effective hits. I’ve shot with my sights with only light on the target and was able to make good hits at 25 yards.
