Glock 44 red dot mounting issue

Is the Glock 44 slide polymer? If the slide is not steel, it will have trouble because the plastic isn’t really strong enough to hold up to the forces the dovetail is putting on it.

Subject: mounting plate problem

I have a Trijicon red dot mounted on a Glock 19 using your product and it works fine. Also have one mounted on a glock 44 using same and after 60 0r 70 rounds the mounting plate "walks" at least a 1/4' or more to the left. I have remounted several times and after each visit to range same problem. I use a Wheeler fat wrench for proper torque 25 in/lb. Any remedy for this? Please advise or call me .

Thanks

Guys-above is correspondence to outer impact reference their mounting plate and their answer-anyone out there having a similar issue and if so where you able to solve it? I I can't resolve will be forced to but the after market slide with a cutout-Thank you for any responses in advance!

Yes, the Nelson Precision Manufacturing 44X slide is the only G44 aftermarket slide that I'm aware of. It's made (mostly) of aluminum and is milled to accept an MRDS with the Trijicon RMR footprint. It uses OEM G44 internals and an OEM G44 barrel (non-threaded or threaded). Ideally, it should cycle reliably with an OEM G44 recoil spring assembly and a broader range of ammo. The gen1 44X slides struggled in this regard. The gen2 44X slides are slated to start shipping at the end of this month. I'd strongly encourage anyone interested in a gen2 44X slide to wait until range reports start to come in. If the gen2 44X slide cycles reliably with an OEM G44 recoil spring assembly, I'd recommend it. It's really a beautiful slide. I never would've bought a G44 without the ability to directly mount a Trijicon RMR.

The GlockTalk Glock 44X thread contains a wealth of directly-indexed information regarding the Nelson Precision Manufacturing 44X slide.

i have a dove tail mount on my polymer slide with a trijicon rmr. i know it may sound crazy but i can't see iron sights as well as i used to so i put the dovetail mount on and used expoxy to prevent it from moving. i have well over 15,000 rounds through this set up with zero issues. i also ordered the aluminum slide from nelsons to do this the right way. i do require hotter ammo for it to run as is but hoping the nelson slide will remedy that as well.

The Nelson Precision Manufacturing gen2 44X slide (I hope you ordered the EDC model) may or may not require less "hot" ammo, however, the RMR-cut slide is a vast improvement over a dovetail mount ... even if you still have to hack the OEM G44 recoil spring assembly.

Please join to the GlockTalk "Glock 44X" thread when you receive your gen2 44X slide (if you haven't already).
