I like my Gen-3's...there I wrote it...but that's what I'm suppose to write on a forum...the loyal opposition always need to be represented...

I only own 3rd gen Glocks myself, but it only makes sense for Glock to slowly fade them out.

regrettably I have to fully agree...I think the only reason why they continue to make the Gen-3 is because of Kalifornia and many LE Agencies that have copious amounts of Gen-3 parts...I'm looking to get a G-19 and I'm leaning towards a Gen-4...

See that is why I prefer gen 3. The smoother finish suits close in COW better than the RTF2 finish

Rough textured frames make a whole lot of sense for the Military, but I find them unnecessarily abrasive for Civilian CCW.

 

That just means that the Gen 3 on the used market will be good deals. I got no issues with the gen 3's.

 

Why would Glock make a new model using an old, soon to be discontinued generation. Time to move on people, stop living in the past.

Good! Dumb to have 2 lines of guns that are the same damn thing in reality. Now maybe Glock quality will return & prices will come down a bit.

Dunno, but that's exactly what they did with the 30S. I'm not surprised the 41 is gen4-only. Maybe a tiny bit disappointed. Anyone surprised should go try to find new gen2 Glocks. Older models get discontinued

The point of the Gen 4 is improvement. Why make something new in the old style?

It will be interesting to see how Glock handles the third generation pistols in relation to some agencies and California.

 

Well I have no interest in Gen 4s but the 41 looks interesting so I may end up with one.
For those who hate Gen 3s Kali has a lot of commies but it also has over 12% of the people in the USA and unless Glock can get the laws changed they will loose out that market.
We can get Gen 4s by converting them to single shot then converting them back but there are rumors that that loophole may be closed next year.

Obviously, but my point was they took two guns they already made and put them together. The 41 and 42 are new guns entirely, so it only makes sense they are Gen 4 only.

 

The Gen 4 21 is fantastic. I'm sure the 41 will be too

Weird, I don't know if I'm the only one, but when I carry my gen 3 and gen 4s in a comp tac IWB holster, and I don't really notice a difference.
