Yes, that's fine. The 34 length barrel fits in the 17, in any generation.

Did a search but did not find an answer to this. Is it possible to replace my Glock 17 barrel with a Glock 34 barrel? (Only the barrel. E.g. I know a G19 will take a G17 barrel.) The G34 barrel will extend a bit past the frame but I don't know if it will extend enough to inhibit functioning.

Not nearly as defined as you might think. I have two longer frame 9mm's (not counting an AR that qualifies as a pistol because of its wrist brace): Springfield XD and Canik TP9SFx. This would just be something different if I did it.

Looking at that list I can't believe a G22 barrel doesn't fit in a G23.

 

Different locking blocks.

 

Gen 3 barrels, and earlier, do not interchange between a G19 and G17. Locking block is completely different. G17 Gen 3, and earlier, can take a G34/G17L and custom 9" barrels.
