Glock 22 vs Glock 21

There are lots of very good/like new condition Glock 22's available online (some even Gen4) for $300-$400. I have long been enamored with only 45 ACP and 9mm and never owned a 40 S&W pistol ( I have shot a g3 27 once). Also, much to my surprise there are not a lot of direct G22/G21 comparison videos or pages. I was wondering if the community could offer it's 2 cents.

I currently own a 17/19 and want one more glock in a different caliber.

Hmm. The G21 will be less snappy to shoot with factory ammo. It will be a few oz heavier.

Hmm... now much else I can say. It is much more a matter of what you want than which is the "better" choice. I, too, see little benefit of the .40 (I know all the fans will say "it is the best of all worlds!!!!!!!!!!!111112!!!!11!!!!111!!," but eh). But, if you want to try something new, get the G22. If you want to go with one of the softest-shooting and accurate .45s (yes, both characteristics compared to the holy 1911), get the G21.

The demand for the 21 is apparent vs the 22. I believe your outline states the supply vs demand. I have yet to acquire a 21 but have (3) 26's (2) 17's and as of yesterday (2) 30s, which has recently become my favorite. The history of the 45 acp is long running and improvement in all ammunition in their function just intensifies the interest. I have had the 40 in models 27 and 22 times two each, and looking back the 9 and 45 appeal more. I would buy the 357 sig or 10mm before the 40 again.

About two years ago, I saw police surplus G22's cheap.
I found a like new G22 gen4, with Glock night sights...for $275.
Bought it on a whim, since I was a 9mm fan long before the rest of the world discovered it.
I found I quite liked the .40 s&w.
That G22 moved into the "handy house pistol" role.

The 21 sized guns never fit my hand as well as a nice 22. I also prefer the higher velocity of the 40 cal over the larger slower 45 bullet.

And good point on the guy who mentioned the 357 conversion. That round is a mean sucker. I have a KKM barrel on order for 5 weeks now. Hope is ships soon.
