I sold my G21 last year, and always regretted it.
It was a very accurate shooter, and 13 + 1 rounds of .45 is a good thing.
It was great for home defense, but just too big to carry.

I recently bought a Sig P227 to replace it. Great gun, but I still missed the Glock.

I almost bought another G21, but there's no room for two full size .45s, and a carry would be nice.
So I talked myself into a Glock 30.

It's barely bigger than the G19, and holds 10 rounds.
I bought two 13 round mags, but they don't feel good without the spacer.
Will order a X-Grip spacer.

I took it out to shoot today, and knew I made a good choice.
After the first magazine getting used to it, it shot great.
I like it as much as the G21. It's basically a "Mini 21".

Only shot 80 rounds, but it was surperb.
Did a ragged hole in the bullseye. Double taps were 2-3", and quick.
Had a 9" group at 15 yards.

It's small enough to carry, and with the 13 round magazine, well suited for home defense.

Good choice in 45acp pistol. I just enjoy my Glock 30G3. Had it for years and it will never be sold or traded. I only added extended controls, night sights, and a aftermarket connector. Shoots like a dream. Enjoy your pistol and be safe.

Enjoy your G30. I got a G30S because my G21 wanted a little brother.

I have a G30 and it has been a great pistol. I shoot it better than any other Glock I own and it is by far the best trigger of my 7 Glocks. I have carried it, but not a lot. I have shot my buddy's 21 and really love it too. So I can't decide if I will sell my G30 and replace it with a G21 or just buy the G21 and keep the G30.

I guess I qualify to give advice on this subject.

If you shoot it better than any other, and it has the best trigger, you will regret selling it.

You may also regret not buying the G21. But you can always fix that by buying one.

Having both is not a bad thing,

You g30 guys need to read this, take note of the extractor alteration on the
fourth page, it works for me in my G30/3 and G30/4,

http://www.glocktalk.com/threads/glock-30-30sf-30s-information.1421425/

That article made me but three G30's.

With this 4.6'' 10mm extended barrel a G30 will do pretty much everything my G20/3 and G20/4 does, except the G30 has been more reliable than both my G20's with
that ext. alt..

This post will explain how to do the extractor alteration,

I also have LW 460 Rowland barrels and their standard 45ACP threaded
barrel and some six inch barrels also.

I have all three 45 Glocks. The 21 has a light on it and is used for home defence. The 30 is kept in my desk and the 36 is kept on my person. The 36 is the easiest to carry. The 30 isn't bad to carry though I find myself pulling my pants up a lot. The 21 to carry has to go into a shoulder holster for me or I will end up with my pants on the ground. Trust me that would be a ugly sight.

I would say that the 21 shoots the best. Then it's the biggest and has the longest barrel. So it should. For me the 30 and 36 shoot about the same. All three are accurate and a joy to shoot.

Some good advise and I will probably take it, especially since my G30 has the old frying pan finish.

You answered your own question. ;)

I like my 30S quite a bit. Good for carry, great shooter. Once I put Pearce base pads on the 10 and 9 round mags I like it quite a bit more. I keep my 21 for bedside duty, the 30 for carry duty (If I'm not carrying a 19).

One question for fellow 30 carriers (to slightly hijack the thread), what is everyone's favorite mag pouch for the monstrously huge G21 mags? I find the spare mag much harder to conceal than the Glock itself.

Given the uncertainty of how the political winds are going to blow, having a little "insurance" tucked back in the safe isn't all bad. This is also a good time to stock up on hi-cap mags. You can always by springs and followers, but the tubes may become either very hard to find or very expensive. I haven't looked for G30 magazines, but 17 & 19 mags can be had everywhere for less than $25.

seattlesetters the Glock 41 is a new one on me. I will have to check it out. It looks a lot like the 21. I don't see the need for a second model 21.

I know they made a 21S and a 30S as well there was something about a 30 with a 36 slide or something like that also out. It's getting like the 1911 45s. More models than I can keep up with let alone buy.

There is no 21s. I'd love to have one. The 41 is a 34 length slim slide on a gen4 21 frame. Can use the same holsters as the gen4 34 and 35. The 30s is the 36 slide on a gen3 30sf frame.
