Glock 20 barrel upgrade question

I just purchased a Glock 20 for hunting purposes. Will an after market 6 inch barrel improve hunting performance over a stock barrel? If so, should I install a ported or nonported barrel. I am wanting to shoot deer and hogs. What will be the effective range with or without a modified barrel.

The six inch barrel provides increased velocity when compared to stock length. Increased velocity translates to more energy. More energy "could" make the difference of a clean kill.
The ported barrels provide more muzzle control but redirect the muzzle blast around you so they seem louder. More muzzle control "could" enable you a faster second shot.

You need to decide which is more important.
