Glock 19 Dust Cover Qs

Hello all,

New to the forum, long time lurker. I've had many glocks and sold a lot of them throughout the years. I decided to pick up a new gen 4 g19 as I got the itch again.

I remember the infamous "pig nose" glocks where the dustcover slanted up towards the end of the slide. What I took away from that was it was normal for some of the polymer frames to not be perfect or completely symmetrical. One side of my new gun has this a little bit, but looking down the barrel (front of the gun), it seems its a little off center around the RSA / frame area. Doesn't look to be equal spacing all around. I can't figure out how to post an image, it only lets me place links, otherwise I'd post a pic.

Now, everything works great, but I want to ask if this is a normal thing for the polymer frame dust cover area to NOT always be perfectly aligned/symmetrical/centered to the slide. Any insight appreciated!

It's normal and purely cosmetic, but it can be corrected using the same process shown in many youtube pig nose videos.

Everyone looks for minor irregularities in a new pistol. Some become OCD about them. :)

Cool, thanks. It seems not all glocks have this only some of them. I guess I could live with it as long as it doesn't affect function. Maybe it's all in their molding process and overlooked due to tolerance?
