As I save my money for my Glock, the decision on what model I want is still jumping all over the place. I can't conceal yet, but I will when I can. I wan't my gun to feel as good as possible both in open and concealed. Can you fit a G19 in your pocket?(without it sticking out at all) how well can your 19/26 fit in there? Pics would be nice if you have them. Thanks

I won't be carrying the gun in the pocket every day. I just wan't something that you can stick in your pocket for a quick and easy carry if desired.

Thanks for the comments so far. No pocket carry for 19, got it. I figgured as much. I will also add that I live in phoenix, and my winters can be like some of yours summers. So I hardley ever whear a jacket unless I am up north.

My G26 will fit in my jean pockets but I wouldn't carry it loose like that. Once it goes into a pocket hoslter like a Nemesis then forget it. I'd be too concerned about draw speed with a tight fit anyway. Although carrying the 26 with the grip sticking out the top of the pocket works pretty well as long as it's stable and you have a covering garment.

Even the smaller J-frame 642 snubbie prints too much in jeans. Works well in cargo pants though.

With proper choice of pants, in-pocket carry of a 26/27 becomes easy. Bluejeans or Dockers' pockets are small, as has been noted. Khaki's from Ralph Lauren Polo, most Hilfinger, most Nautica, have larger pockets that would accomodate a small Glock in an in-the-pocket holster. Cargo pants from these makers are even better, as the lower cargo pocket helps mask the muzzle printing. Waiting for sale time can remove most of the financial punch of buying these designer lines.

I am 6'4, 185, and in a 38 waist in these lines, I can carry a 29 in the front pocket without printing. Of course, a stout belt is needed to prevent sagging from the weight of a 29/30.

In-pocket carry eliminates a bunch of hassle, particularly in hot weather. I strongly recommend a shopping trip to find suitable pockets.

I pocket carried my G27 a lot before I picked up an aluminum J-frame. I pretty much stopped carrying the 27 after that. The glock was twice as heavy and felt a lot wider in pocket. But I shot the glock SO much better that I sold the J to make myself carry the glock more. Then I decided a Kahr PM9 would be a better idea, and its a great gun as far as pocket carry goes....but a few oz heavier than the J was....now Im considering a diamondback 380......round n round we go.

I can't imagine someone pocket carrying a G19. I carry a G27 in a cargo pocket. I have it in a Blackhawk Inside-The-Pant holster that I use as a pocket holster and I put a small folded towel in the pocket with it so that the towel stays between my leg and the gun, otherwise the gun bumps against my leg with every step. I can carry the gun in a front pocket, but it leaves quite a bulge.

I can imagine if you had HUGE cargo pockets you could carry a G19 in a cargo pocket. My cargo pockets won't fit my G23 though.

I like the Blackhawk Inside-The-Pant holster because it's thin and the muzzle end is closed which is great for keeping dust out of the gun and holster. The Blackhawk is a size 5. Uncle Mike's makes an identical holster but their size for the G26/27/33 is 12.

Where the sub-compact really shines is waistband carry. I'm a thin guy at 5'11" 160lbs and the grip of the G23 sticks out quite a bit no matter what holster I wear. But the G27 grip leaves just a tiny little protrusion in the shirt. If I'm wearing a really baggy shirt or a jacket I can waistband carry the G23 just fine. If not, I must go with the G27 either on the hip or in a cargo pocket.

I carry the 26. Depending on the clothing an IWB is used frequently; however I do pocket carry with the right shorts/pants. Need a good belt either way.

My EDC is a G26...almost always carried in a RM Low Rider IWB kydex holster. I have a Galco horsehide pocket holster for it that I sometimes use for winter coat pocket carry.

For jeans/pants pocket carry I much prefer an Airweight J-frame. My current favorite is a no-lock 442. It gets carried in a Galco horsehide pocket holster.

I bought an uncle mike pocket carry holster for my G26 last week. I took it back yesterday and bought an IWB holster. I know some people here do it and I wanted badly to pull it off. It's just to big and heavy for me to pull it off. I am 5'8 195lbs and wear baggier clothes. With the IWB I dont even feel the weight.

I do prefer pocket carry, I am looking at a TCP for that though. If you do get a G26 I suggest you try it out, see if it is for you.

Personally, I find the weight more concerning than the size, but I put up with both. I'm 6'4" 285 pounds and a 26/27 still feels like a brick in my front pocket. However I carry a 649 J frame too, which is an all stainless model, and it weighs about the same. I mainly wear cargo shorts and 5.11 tactical pants and have no problem with size in either a De Santis or an Aholster. I carry for reliability not comfort, or I'd have one of those new fangled fluff and buff gadgets.

Looser pockets on cargo shorts might handle a 26 w/o printing if you use a good holster. I have a few pair with deep pockets that can cover a G23, but I wouldn't carry it that way because of the weight. I usually default to a SW442 for pocket carry.
