Wanted to get my Gen 3 17l slide cut for optics. I called 2 places today and they say it can't be done because Glock took too much out of the slide because of its length and there isn't enough material. So now I am looking at aftermarket slides. Prices seem to vary greatly has anyone gone down this road with replacing a slide. Who are the good company's and are there any good slides at a moderate price? Thanks Sam

Sell it and buy a 34 or the 17L gen5 MOS that is slated to come out.
I found it too expensive to buy a spare slide and its necessary parts to make it function just for an optic.
It was around $350-$400 to cut my sig p226 slide and get it refinished. A Sig RXP slide from opticsplanet with a Romeo optic is $550.
An optic really negates the need for a long sight radius such as the 17L. No need to worry about sight alignment or sight picture anymore. Just put the dot on target and pull the trigger.

Trijicon SRO/RMR HD for Glock
Our Trijicon SRO cut is milled to a depth of .125" which includes front recoil posts and mounting screws. Screws supplied are (2) #6-32 7/16".

Website says they do (17L/41) $20 up charge to add some material to slide so threads engage.
$200 with black nitride finish was what it looks like on that link.
