All,
Last week, I made a trade with a buddy of mine. He told me he had a Glock 17 Gen 3 in excellent shape, 2 mags and box/paperwork. I trusted him and made a trade on a stock P365 w/ two mags. I was actually planning on turning the Glock, as the 17's around here sell well.
He showed up at my office with this gem. At first I didn't know what it was. I do remember seeing a few of these style Glocks (Glock 22's) on Armslist for outrageous prices, but never in person. I used to own a Glock 32 Gen 3 a long time ago with this slick finish and I loved it. Sold it as ammo was getting expensive and that was 4-5 years ago.
Anyway, I've been doing a lot of searching and reading up on this Glock. The grip is amazing. I wish my Gen 5 MOS 19 had this same RTF texture. I have read that these were only produced for 8 months? Does anyone know the amount produced? My Serial # is NGX8xx, Can anyone tell me the possible date range this will fall in? I mean beginning/middle/end of production of this 17? Box label matches all 3 #'s, has the fired shell casings signed with matching #. I was told round count is exactly 300. Judging by the lack of wear, I believe it. It still has the original receipt where my buddy purchased it locally. Weapon has never left Oklahoma.
Last question. It has the stock Glock sights. I'm thinking about installing some Trijcon HD's with a yellow front post. I'd love to make it a shooter, but I'm a little hesitate. If this is possibly a collector Glock, I'd love to hang onto it. It won't be carried, but I do shoot alot. It's got a forever home now. I noticed that at some point, it has had a tight light or laser attached to the rail. I can see some road rash on the rail portion of the weapon. That may kill any value it has and therefore a nice shooter?
Thanks in advance
