I have always wanted an HK91 since I was small and then a HK93 as I got older and came to appreciate the 5.56.

Well I have an opportunity to purchase both, and I have the cash! Both are in very good to excellent shape.

The 91 is a IA Code A2, with Green furniture, bipod, Karl Kaps scope, claw mount, and scope case, (2) 40 round mags and (20) 20 round mags with the mag holders.

The 93 is an IC code A3 with retractable stock, bipod, bolt deflector and carry handle, with an HK hard case, and (6) 40 round mags, (1) 30 round mag and (3) 25 round mags.

Private sale, no shipping involved.

Wants $2800 for the 93 and $2500 for the 91 - would take $5000 for both OTD.

I am leaning towards doing it, what do you think? anything to look out for as a pre buy inspection?

Thanks!

Those prices are pretty fair for my area also, I owned a Century HK93 that worked and found it pretty fun , i would go to the range and make sure it functions

I would try to knock of a couple of hundred just because I was purchasing both but with that many accessories that may be tough to do

This is just me, but yes I would check them out thoroughly, that said, if I really wanted a HK I would look at a PTR (my on HK tooling and a high quality at that), then take the savings and accessorize it how you want. I would probably pass on the 93 though, as there are much better 556/223's available with better barrels and better twist rates to handle more than just 55 grain bullets. A good AR has better ergonomics and much better accuracy than the HK can ever achieve. I have owned both in the past both the 91, PTR, and 93, and after sitting in the safe I decided I could use the room better. If you really want to learn about HK's go over to M4carbine.net and look for "steyraug" he has forgotten more about HK's and their clones than most people will ever know.

the prices are a bit high 4600 OTD for both would be fair...
i have seen them sell in that condition for right at 2000 on gunbroker.

Even for HK 93's? I have notice that the mags for them, if true HK mags are not cheap. At a recent local auction a like new HK93 with only 1 mag and nothing else went for $2250 after all was said and done.

HK 91's do seem to be less costly than 93's, I assume its because of how few were imported as compared to the 91's. 91 mags are dirt cheap too.

then again the added convience of not having to have them shipped, pay an FFL fee, being able to see them first and being a private deal has some appeal and would add some value. How much is the ?

How much would 9 extra HK 223 mags be worth?

That's the thing, HK 93 mags are spendy, and you have no alternative but to get HK mags, where 91 mags can be had for realistic prices, 93 mags can't be. That was another reason I sold my 93, high mag prices, less than stellar ergonomics, scope mount way to high, and accuracy less than my old SP1. For what it's worth I did like the 25 rounders better than the 40's, while the 40's do hold more they throw more weight on, and make prone shooting a pain. To get prices your best bet would be gun broker or google HK 93 mags and see, depending on condition, you could pretty much come up with a value going this route.

Well the lowest 93 mag prices on GB were $29 (and at that price they had not reached reserve) for the 40 rounders and they went up from there with the 30 rounders seeming much higher priced.

Minimum on the scope and mount seems to be $400, and a collapsable stock is big bucks too HK is a premium but wow!

Well until I see them this week no $ will be changing hands.

Here are two sites I had forgotten about, since I only own a MP5K AOW now, I dont go here much
http://www.hkpro.com/forum
http://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/home.asp
Thing is, HK parts you get now are from other licensed manufacturers, allot of 93/94 parts are from India, and Turkey, same for the 91, just not as much. Ther only still in production HK by HK is the MP5 series, and you can use the newer "F" retractable stock for a MP5 on a HK 93 with no mods, and problems. The reason HK parts are so much more expensive, is their not made any more, and when they were HK wasnt big on civilian sales and those that are its a pain to import, for such a limited market area. I have bought a few things from HK Parts net, and their service is great.

legion3, i have a few HK handgun's but i am thinking about a HK long gun. The help your getting here the guy sure know's his HK's, good luck

well the seller did lower the price to $4700 OTD for both rifles.

so $2350 each? Maybe high on the 91 but not so much on the 93?

I was at an estate gun auction a few weels back and bid on a mint 93 A2 with 1 mag and nothing else and i helped bit it up to $2250 when all was said and done. and that included background check for $20 :wow: , 10% buyers premium and 7% sales tax.

I would check the condition of the barrel and the bolt gap, along with the size of the rollers. If all checks out I think the prices quoted are fair for guns in "as new" condition. Keep us posted. :wavey:
Sounds like good advice. :wavey:

Also, like classic cars in "as new" condition, imagine what they will be worth 10 years from now. :whistling:
