Gen 5 trigger

I have said the Gen 5 has a better trigger and been looking for some confirmation of this. I found it. Look around 3:47 at what this Navy Seal says:

I disagree.I prefer the gen 3 trigger over thee gen 5. To me the gen 5 trigger feels like a 3 stage trigger. There are 2 walls to pull through, the first is when the shark fin engages the firing pin block and the second when the shot breaks. I don't find them to be as smooth as gen 3 triggers.

I carry my Glock 26 Gen 5 daily and after over 4K no issues with the trigger or anything.

I can't really tell a difference with the feel of the Gen 5 trigger over the other. The stock trigger still feels like a staple gun. It's functional and is what it is, but if there was any improvement it was minimal other than fixing the spring breakage issue. I use the NY-1 even in Gen 5 so I don't have either of those problems.

To me the Gen5 is better than the Gen3 in that in has a shorter reset. I can't tell a huge difference in the pull of the trigger compared to a Gen4, but the reset is slightly shorter.

Functionally, more similar than different to the point that only those truly attuned to their triggers would know or care. But for those that do, these preferences prevail.

I like the guy in the video. Gave his opinion, but left others room to think and do as they please. Offered his thoughts, but didn't preach.

Two observations I thought were interesting,

At 8:20 in the video:
First, he said of the Gen 5 trigger "It's not a good trigger", and listed the top 320 trigger, CZ, and the P2xx series guns as costing more but delivering better. Since he still felt the Glock was a great option (for the reasons he listed) it wasn't a bash on Glock, but clearly he is willing to note both things Glock does better and places where it comes up short.

At 11:40 in the video:
The second amusing thing to me was he talked about his Glock stash they used while deployed and described them as "to hell and back reliability". I am sure SIG marketing would like to point out that is THEIR ad campaign, not Glock's! Whether that was intentional on his part (and part of his SEAL, post-P226 transition), or just a colloquial stream of thought is unknown to me, but was amusing!

Hmm… all 3 of my Glocks are gen 5, all 3 got a quick polish job and all 3 (especially the 19) have thousands or rounds. (26 being the least)

never noticed the trigger getting worse at 500-600. I do clean it all out once in a while, connector gets white lithium dab.

the manual does call for line on the connector, are folks not doing that???
