Gen 5 Round Counts?

People with Gen 5 Glocks, could you report how many rounds you've shot through your Gen 5s and how many stoppages you've had? I'm specifically interested in owners who have over 3000 rounds through an individual gun.

So far I'm at a mere 300 with no stoppages in the Gen 5 I bought last week. Just interested in the long term reliability and durability of the gun since it hasn't been out that long. Some people I see say they have over 10k without a single issue, and then others say their trigger gets sticky or the plating on the trigger bar starts flaking off after a few thousand rounds. Overall, though, I don't see much documentation of high round counts through Gen 5s, and I wonder how it stacks up to previous gens.

I've had many types of pistols including Gen 3 and 4 Glocks that've developed problems AFTER passing the 3000 round mark, even after being completely disassembled and cleaned. I also have a 2005 made Gen 3 17 that's never had a single part replaced chugging along fine after 14k, which any non-Glock pistol I've had has never matched without anything breaking.

I got mine in January. Initially put about 300 through it. Went to a two week course for handguns and shotguns and put close to 1700 through it there. Since put approximately 400 since March, and have put 100 147 HST rounds through it.

No stoppages. No malfunctions that weren’t intentionally induced for training. Shoots good, shoots straight. No indications the Gen 5 is better or worse than my Gen 3

I put 3200 rounds thru my G19 Gen 4 with no misfires and only cleaned it when I got to 3000 rds.
I sold the G19 after having rented a G19x and liking it better. However, to be clear, the G19 performed flawlessly.

My G19X, as of returning from the range today, now has 1050 rounds thru it..also no problems at all... I’m more accurate with the 19X as it feels better in my hand AND the trigger is noticeably better IMO.

I have probably 300 rounds through my 19. No issues with it

Gen 5 G26

Near constant jams in the first 300 rounds. Couldn't get through a magazine without at least one.

(And, before someone says it, I'm pretty confident it's the gun, not me. I was shooting my G26.3 and G43 in the same session using the same ammo with no problems with either. I've never had a single problem with my G26.3, G43, or G30S since they came out of the box. Only the 26.5 has acted up. Also...)

After sending it in to Glock, they sent it back with unspecified work done. The next 200 rounds or so were better, but not perfection: One jam every 60 rounds or so now rather than every 10.

I'm trying to decide if I should send it back again or just keep spending money on break-in ammo in hopes that it someday becomes reliable enough to carry. If I wanted a gun needing a break in period, I could have just bought a Kahr.

Sorry to hear. I don't think I could ever trust a gun like that enough to carry it, even if it did eventually start being more reliable. 500 rounds should be well more than enough for a break in, and I don't think non-lemon Glocks should need a break in (just my opinion from experience). If it were me I would sell it (immediately after sending and receiving it back from Glock again), put the money towards another 26.5 that's hopefully not a lemon, or just get something else altogether. Regardless, I hope it works out for you.

I'm surprised there aren't more responses with higher round counts...
-G19.5...12,600 with 5 ammo malfunctions [WWB, Aguila...FTF]...original parts [RSA is way past due]...pre-bevel
-G19X...7,200...working like a friggin Timex...original parts...
Nice. I'm hoping my pre-bevel 19.5 works as well as those. I'm only shooting 9mm NATO out of it. This is exactly the type of numbers I've been hoping to see to get a sense of long term durability and reliability. Hoping more chime in, good info from everyone so far.

Planning on putting another 600 rounds through it this weekend to bring the round count on mine up to 1k, expecting it to continue with no malfunctions. Also going to put in another order for 1000 rounds.

I've been keeping my 19.5 loaded with 147gr HST. I've seen some say the gen 5 has a shorter throat, and I'm wondering if that could cause any problems, but I shot 15 rounds of the 147 HSTs out of it this past weekend with no problems.
