Hello, not sure where to post this so I'm doing it here. Please correct me if I'm wrong for posting this here....

I just purchased a like new Gen 5 Glock 19 FS, and the trigger feels.....odd, to me. I am comparing this to the Gen 3 I have been carrying for quite a while so that may be why... But anyway...

So I should mention that I have not fired this handgun yet. I bought it from someone and the gun is basically brand new. They claimed to only have fired one magazine of ammo through it, and I believe them, because the gun looks like its never even been shot. I was practicing dry firing in my Gen 3 and decided that since I will be EDCing my Gen 5 once my holster comes in the mail, I should start practicing with it. Well, I did, and to my surprise, the trigger didn't feel right. I have heard people in YouTube videos claiming how great the trigger is, but to me, it feels worse than my Gen 3. Whenever I slowly pull the trigger, once I get past the pre-travel and hit the wall, if I pull a little bit harder, the trigger will slightly move again and make a click noise, but the trigger isn't breaking. I actually have to pull it a little more past that first click and then the trigger will actually break. Is this normal? I am no gunsmith and am relatively new to firearms so I have not attempted taking the gun completely apart to look at the internals, but I have field stripped it and made sure everything you can access without popping the pins out is clean and normal looking. It doesn't do this every time I pull the trigger. Sometimes, it will break just fine, but then every 4 out of 5 dry firings, I'll get that weird phantom break before the actual break. I have been thinking maybe I need to go shoot the gun and see if it works itself out and makes it better after its had a few hundred rounds put through it, thinking maybe I just need to break it in. I just thought it was weird because none of my Gen 3 or 4s had that issue. I am going to the range tomorrow and will be doing just that, so hopefully I can come back here and tell you all its been improved. But, in the meantime, anyone have any advice on what I should do, or if this is normal for the Gen 5? I apologize if I'm not being very clear on what the problem is, but I hope with the information I've provided, someone on here can help me out. Thank you!

So kept doing it some more, and now it isn't doing that phantom break as often. I dry fired it about 14 times in a row before it did it again, so it seems its becoming less common. Hopefully once I get some rounds through it, it'll break it in better and it won't do it anymore. Otherwise, I'll have to find someone who knows how to work on Glocks who can diagnose the problem, if there is one at all.

Maybe somebody detail stripped it and didn't put it back together right. I'd want to check to make sure the connector is fully inserted into the bottom of the trigger housing and the firing pin safety spring is seated into the firing pin safety all the way. I'd also want to check the little plastic rod the trigger spring rides on to make sure it didn't break off one of the little round pegs that keeps it secured in the front of the trigger housing.

My G19 gen 5 was really bad, polished, still bad, new trigger and connector, almost locked up. Took it to a Glock armorer, he finally traded the trigger from the store's display gun and it now works. Don't know why. I'm not impressed with it at all.

Does it have any modification to the trigger housing like an overtravel screw to the rear? This can happen if it does have such a screw that is screwed in too far. It sounds like yours is newish and oem but just wanted to through it out there. I would also check the connector as someone else mentioned make sure it is seated all the way and that it is properly bent away from the housing so that a sheet of paper can fit between the housing and connector.
