I was going over my Gen 5 G19 today while giving it a good cleaning and first disassembly, and before I did anything, I noticed on the ambidextrous slide stop, it sticks out further on one side than the other. I do not have another Gen 5 to compare it to, so I am curious if this is the norm for it. It almost rubs the frame on one side and is a ways out on the other side. Is that how it should be?

I don’t own one yet but I shot a gen 5 g19 and just like yours the ambi slide stop on the right side ( ejection side) was about 40 percent further out that the left side. Did not bother me, but it seems to be how it is designed.

Same here. Different cutout on each side so it’s a design feature. Most likely to ensure even pressure over that piece.
