I am looking for a good system to carry a GP100 6" for hunting. I hunt in Wisconin so it can not be concealed. Is any one familiar with the Galco VHS System? Would it work well for hunting?

That's very great.I have a VSH for a 4" 629, it seems to stay in place well and is quite comfortable. The chest rigs are nice also. I use one of those when I carry my Glock 40 hunting.
When I went to Afghanistan in 2013-14, you could wear a shoulder holster, but it had to be vertical and not concealed and it had to work without being fastened to a belt at the bottom. Galco is the only brand I know that really works for that. I used a Galco VHS for my M9 every day for 9 months and it was perfect. I wouldn't carry one here, because I always use the horizontal Galco shoulder holsters, but for your purpose I recommend it.I am looking for a good system to carry a GP100 6" for hunting. If I was going to carry a gun on my chest, I'd get an El Paso or similar tanker holster.View attachment 1191726
Kenai Chest Rig.
Shoulder holsters under the arm can be kinda flappy with heavy guns. I've got a Classic Lite for a 43 it works pretty well.
I've got the El Passo Saddlery for my 5.5 Ruger SBH. They are well made for sure.If I was going to carry a gun on my chest, I'd get an El Paso or similar tanker holster.
I've tried both, always get the trigger guard hung up on the cassette door.Betamax is better than VHS...
