I am giving my 43 to a family member and I'm getting a 43x. Other than the SA 15 magazine is there any functional upgrades you would suggest, i.e. spring, trigger, etc that would truly enhance performance? I'm not looking to dazzle it out with compensators and the like.
Since its my CCW I think I'll stick with the factory mag release rather than a metal one. I think that will allow me to continue using both mags.

Thanks.

With regard to S15 magazines, they will eventually grind down the notch on the polymer magazine catch. Some prefer to just keep a spare OEM catch on hand. I completely replaced the OEM catch with a metal one and replaced the OEM mags with several S15s entirely with my 48, and never looked back.

Other than some decent sights and a 3.5# connector, not much else is really needed. I suppose you could look into an extended slide release lever as long as it's not prone to snags if it's going to be carried as a CCW.

Johnny glock combat trigger with flat face shoe is a great investment and makes the trigger feel sooo much better then oem. I'd stick with the oem 5.5lb striker spring but yea expensive but worth it.

Ameriglo gl-105 night sights are what I use

Talon pro grips also are worth their weight in gold

I just took a Baer Solutions class with a guy that had a G 43X and added an RMR, compensator as well as the S 15 magazines. I also believe that they have the light rail as well, n'est pas?

on my 48, as with all my Glocks, after the first 200 rounds fired I do a $0.25 trigger job.

then I added XS Big Dot sights and replaced the serrated trigger shoe with a smooth face trigger shoe from a Glock 17 trigger bar assembly.

I may be the only person on GT that doesn't care for the Gen 5 "no finger grooves" grip so I added a Hogue grip sleeve with finger grooves.

as for striker springs, I've found that a LWD mid weight striker spring reduces the trigger pull to around 5 lbs. and a LWD light weight striker spring reduces trigger pull to around 4 lbs.

I've fired another 300 plus rounds as set up with the mid weight spring without a hick up so I'm GTG to carry with it installed, but the jury is still out on the light weight spring, tho I've had no issues with it in the limited number of rounds fired with it installed, I did have light primer strikes with the light weight striker spring installed in a Glock 17 early last year so I'll need to run a couple hundred rounds with the light weight spring installed before calling it GTG.

Unless you’re not hitting the target at all or your trigger has a 10# pull - LEAVE YOUR TRIGGER AS IS.
For the life of me I will never understand people throwing their money away on the latest and greatest trigger system.
If this is your carry gun and you are grouping at 7 yards, guess what, your trigger is just fine.
If you are using this for a competition gun, and you need to hit the ten ring at 25 yards, by all means get yourself an expensive trigger, otherwise you’re just throwing money to the wind.

Sights, Talon type grips, trigger polish. Think twice about the mag release/mag usage. I'd probably do metal on metal overall for extended shooting. I used the SA metal release while testing the S15 mags for reliability. I like the 43x weight with stock mags...I know--I know.....but carry a S15 as a reload with the stock release. If I need it...1 mag worth will not ruin my gun, but I wouldn't shoot alot with the metal mags and polymer release. We all make our own choices.....

I have a Streamlight TLR-6, Trijicon Sights, Haley Skimmer trigger for now. Been rotating EDC with a 19 with a red dot. I am planning to have the 43X cut for an RMRcc.

Thanks for great commentaries. Actually sights was my biggest priority. I've always used the Glock night sites on all my Glocks. However, since I really like the 43 I want to tweak it.

I would like to see in person an extended release though.

I do like the Trijicon type sites or similarjust need to decide which one.
