Here it is!

200 more rounds at the range (400 Total so far) with no issues! 100 Magtech Steel Case, 75 reloads 115g Berry's 5.5g titegroup, 25 Rounds CCI/Speer 124g +P JHP!

This is my 2nd G19, bought in 2008

I did all mods myself.

Undercuts, smooth Glock Knuckle areas
Mild stippling
Gas Pedal
Gen 5 MOS Slide
Radian Ramjet/Afterburner
Ameriglo Protector sights
Holosun SCS MOS
Polished internals aka $0.25 trigger job
3.5lb Ghost Connector with overtravel stop
Vickers Mag & Slide Catch
Back cut behind Mag Catch
Tungsten Guide Rod & round spring
Surefire X300U

As for what's needed to do the Gen 5 Slide Swap:

1. Bore out the front of the frame to accommodate the larger bottom/front of the Gen 5 slide (because of the size of the dual Recoil Spring Assembly RSA). This is where you'll spend most of your time.

2. Adapter for Gen 3 RSA to use on Gen 5 Slide

3. Change rear slide plate to Gen 3 (not necessary, but looks better IMO

4. Safety check, and enjoy!

This took about an hour and a half.

Here you can see the functional parts are essentially in the same spot. Gen 5 left, Gen 3 Right.

Why did I do this you ask?

Finger Grooves.

Also in California: We have a "Safe" Handgun Roster and we cannot buy anything newer than a Gen 3 Glock, because they are not deemed "Safe" by the all knowing State of CA. We're already suing to get this fixed and it's well underway.

I wanted to use an optic that would cowitness with factory height sights, the SCS MOS does it best from what I've seen. And it doesn't look terrible :)

As you can see, this thing is LOW!

I have Shield RMSc' optics on my G43 & G43X & RMS on one G26 which cowitness' with factory height "iron" sights as well, so I'm already used to finding the dot fast with this height optic/sights and didn't want to change it up.

Band file works well the clear material from the channel too. Not sure why you changed the slide cover plate to the Gen 3? Either way, next step is to covert your Gen 3 trigger assembly to a Gen 5. The Gen 5 trigger assembly gets rid of that pesky S spring, feels better, and is more in line with your modifications.

Yeah, I could see that. I was thinking of getting some sanding spindles as well since I could use them along with my drill press for a nice even "route"

I had contemplated fitting the Gen 5 trigger assembly, have you done this before? Any major fitting required?

I'm in CA, so I don't carry these in SD :)
:unsure:Not sure if you are being facetious? SD as in Self Defense not SD as in South Dakota or SD as in San Diego... being as you are in CA. So do you carry the gun in CA? Last of my friends from my SoCal days just moved to Fla not too long ago—they had wanted to leave for years but work kept them there.
we have oranges, just as good
Love CA oranges! Miss the fresh produce from when we lived out there. Just getting new shipments of oranges here now!

I haven't carried my 19 since getting my 43 & 43X several years ago. After these came out it was very difficult to want to carry the 19. If I didn't have those I would carry my 26's, if I didn't have the 26's I would carry my 26L (19 with grip cut down to 26 length). If I didn't have any of those I would still probably not carry my 19 as a CCW. If I had no other choices I would have no problems with carrying this.

At under $200 to get a Glock slide cut for an optic and refinished, and even for a Cali resident, it seems counterintuitive to purchase a gen3 G19, then purchase an OEM gen5 G19 MOS slide at $342-$419.99, and with the addition of a non OEM adapter required for it to function, I wonder what advantage, or increase in performance or reliability this provides that's worth the permanent modification to your serialized grip frame and the cost of the additional parts?

You seem fairly young, yet you require front slide serrations to adequately rack the slide of your optic equipped Glock? I'm 65 years old and have bad RA and weak finger strength yet I have no issues racking the slides of my optic equipped handguns using the standard rear slide serrations.

Please don't get me wrong, your money is yours to spend as you like, but I'm a bit puzzled by this exercise.

I don't expect you to understand... and you know what they say. If you have to ask...

I've had this Gen 3 since 2008, so there was not an additional investment of a G19 to do this. I also prefer the Gen 3 finger grooves... as mentioned multiple times and in the video.

The complete Glock 19 Gen 5 slide came in far under your estimated costs. As with anything, if you look often enough you can find nearly anything at a great price. I've mentioned it multiple times, I wanted the Glock OEM MOS Cut. This is not an option that is even possible via aftermarket slide machining to a Glock OEM Slide. Also, keep in mind, I still have my Gen 3 complete slide assembly. I could probably sell this for about the same as I paid for the Gen 5.

The non-oem adapter is a piece of Stainless Steel machined by NDZ. Fits snug and they are a reputable company as far as I've seen. I'm putting this at highly unlikely it will ever be a problem, but have a 2nd one just incase it is.
Interesting that you would advocate for an aftermarket company to permanently modify your slide and finish, but are worried about a small piece of Stainless and removing material from the grip frame?

So far, 400 rounds down the tube of 3 different types of ammo without even a slight hiccup. So far there is zero change to reliability. You can't increase 100% Reliability. Removing some material from a plastic grip frame may be beyond some folks scope and I understand that, but I'm not afraid of it... as you can see. Worst case scenario if I had messed it up, I can send it back to Glock to have it replaced for a small fee.

I don't require front slide serrations, nor did I ever say that. I made the point about the front serrations since these typically cost extra to have done by folks that would optic cut a Glock slide. They are handy, however and given the choice to have them or not with an optic, I prefer them being there. I have a G26 with an optic cut and no forward serrations. Less preferable IMO.

On top of that there were folks stating how it can't be done and a bunch of silly reasons why it shouldn't be done. So that made me want to do it that much more :)

Now you know it can be done and how without having to spend a single dollar of your own. You're welcome 😁
