G19 extended barrel

I Just purchased a gen5 Glock19 extended barrel. Not sure what the plan is as of right now still debating on suppressors and or compensator options. So for the mean time is it advisable to use thread lock or any other options i might be unaware of to ensure the thread cap stays in place? or if anything is necessary at all. any advice is appreciated.

No direct experience with pistol thread protectors, but I had one on my AR15 for a time, and it stayed put with just hand tightening. FWIW

No loctite .... I've never had one come off just finger tight

Most do have some flats you could use a wrench to tighten it more if you'd like

Extended or threaded? I ask as you can run a G5 G17 barrel on a 19. If threaded, I've found a good thread protector with a proper high temp rubber seal, Viton, will keep it from loosening.

Oring is what I used also. Thread protector stayed put.

I think the following is what I used with a 40/9mm threaded conversion barrel.

M1x11 Viton Fluoroelastomer O-Ring, 75A Shore Durometer, Round, Black, 11 millimeters ID, 13 millimeters OD, 1 millimeters Width (Pack of 25): O Ring Seals: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
