Hi all!

I am building a G19 Gen3. The lower is all Glock parts.

There are several vendors from whom one may order a "lower parts kit". They make a distinction between G17 and G19. The only difference that I am aware of is that the G17 has a smooth trigger, and the G19 has a grooved trigger. I prefer the smooth trigger. Can I just order the G17 kit? Or, is there another part or parts that differ?

Thanks!

the Gen 3 & Gen 4 can use the same trigger, I have a spare G17 trigger for my G19 just in case I decide to use the smooth type

yes, they are interchangeable

Order the parts kit for a 19 and a G17 trigger bar and you will be good to go.

If you order the 17 parts kits, you will have to order a 19 locking block and slide lock spring. This way will likely cost more.

I want to bump this and ask something.

Are the “fire control groups” the same. With the exception of the trigger being smooth or edged.

I have a G19.3 that needs just a trigger group, it’s got the slide lock and locking block and pins.
I have a G17.3 complete lower assembly.

I should be able to just swap the whole trigger and everything attached into the G19.3 right?

In general...NO.

What you ask about is the TRIGGER MECHANISM HOUSING.

Yes, the TMH is the same for pre-Gen4 9x19mm pistols. It is part 322 and comes with Ejector 336. Since 2010, it has been made with an improved attachment point for the coil Trigger Spring hook.

The UNMARKED Connector is standard in both pre-Gen4 G17 and G19 for a 5.5-lbf trigger pull. The DOT Connector would produce about 5.0-lbf pull and the MINUS Connector about 4.5-lbf.

The Trigger With Trigger Bar is part 2303 for a Gen3 G19 and has a grooved Trigger. The TWTB is part 357 for a Gen3 G17 and has a smooth-face Trigger. Both parts are interchangeable.
