I'm still considering getting a Tac 14 or a Shockwave, but I have a major concern with either or -

1. Does anyone offer a different forearm for the Tac 14, or at least some way, form or strap or other to help from keeping your hand slide forward past the muzzle like the strap on the Shockwave does (or better yet, something more than a nylon strap that may fray or wear out over time?:( ) ?

2. Has anyone HAD the strap fail on a Shockwave yet, and fail / wear out as described above?

I'm not really hung up on either design or brand, my largest concern is the forearm issue, and I am also honestly not really a fan of the nylon strap for fear of failure over time (?).

Thanks -

Eric

If I had to do it over again I would probably have gotten the Mossberg vs. Tac-14 because of the location of the action release. Mossberg is much more accessible.

Here's how mine are set up.
The +1 mag tube extension has a sling mount on the left side. It serves as an additional barrier to hand slippage.
I have CDS Tactical grip panels on forearm and grip.

And Magpul M-LOK Hand Stops.

I also MagNaPorted the barrel and use Winchester Ranger Low Recoil 00 Buck.
I shot a 20 gauge, it's not much different from my setup.

THAT is more what I was thinking with the handguard setup, daddy likey. :) :) :)

Nice setup, especially with the +1, I hate it when the mag tube is not even with barrel on a tactical looking scatter gun. Plus I like the tape on the forearm too.

Thanks! :)

You could also get a Mossberg style strap like I have above. I figured if one is good, two is better, most of the "wear and tear" is on the MagPul, JIC I have the strap.

I find the Type 1 rail covers are grippy enough.

Didn’t need the strap on my Shockwave, though it never gave me a problem. Did replace the foreend with the GG&G Magpul variant just to be able to get a fuller grip and capability to add a light to it.

A friend did break his strap, but he’s type of person who can break anything honestly.

I ordered a strap on eBay for my Tac14. Went on in about two minutes and mounts in the M-Lok slots.

I went with the Mossberg. Strap works great. If you want it, it is there. If you do not it does not get in the way.

Simple and easy.
