Hi, I'm looking for a straight drop kydex or synthetic paddle holster with a thumb operated retention mechanism and found the FOBUS Thumb Lever Holster. This holster fits all my requirements and it has an adjustable cant so I can customize that to my fancy. One thing I don't know, however, is are these holsters any good? I've heard good and bad, but would like some recent opinions on the company and they're products now.
If the FOBUS doesn't work out I'm also looking at the Galco MX4 Auto Locking Holster, which has everything I want, except for a very slight cant that I can live with.
Thoughts?

I have one for my G23 and I like it a lot. XLNT retention but easy draw with adrenaline assist. I wear it strong side rear and cover it with a sportcoat or other XXLong garment.

I don't understand why anyone doesn't like these holsters. I'm thinking snobbery because of low cost. I only use it for winter carry, other wise I prefer a single stack carried IWB.

I/ve had many and they were just fine... Paddle holsters... Sold all my holsters when Clip Draw came along. I sort of miss them and my GLOCK Kydex Holsters. I DO,,,, have some Uncle Mikes pocket #3/s but never use them.

I've used them for years but have found that the original basic model works best. No moving parts etc. They are cheap but do the job. Since they are made and used in Isreal I suppose that counts for something as they don't make junk whenever it comes to weapons. The only drawback is the lack of adjustability. The Roto version does not hold its draw angle after a while and if you leave mags in the mag holders all of the time they loose the firmness that holds the mags in. Of course if you wash them in hot water they return to factory condtion.

I'll add my two cents... if all the holster is used for is something to keep the pistol in... for example if it stays in your night stand or maybe the glove box of your truck...ok and I mean just ok. Somewhat ok if all you use it for is a range holster. However do not, I repeat do no use a fobus as your carry holster. In terms of a carry holster they are absolute junk. There's a reason they're so cheap and other holster cost more. A fellow officer at a department I used to work for showed up at a training class with his glock in a fobus. Our training officer, whom I consider to be one of the best, observed this and flipped his ****. When the officer argued the case the training officer grabbed his pistol and yanked it, completely ripping the pistol out the holster. Not only was the paddle snapped but the actual holster ripped at well. And there the training officer was with a loaded glock in his hand. Our department then came out with a memo stating that no officer will carry a fobus holster with either their duty weapon, backup, or any weapon in the capacity of a law enforcement officer. I've since heard that multiple departments have done this ass well.

Especially with the common Glock models...17,19,26...there are a lot of great, barely used holsters. You see them here, and on every other forum, and eBay. Often, pretty cheap.
When I was looking for a paddle holster for my G26, I found a great Safariland. Leather lined laminate, like new, and really works great. Looks good too. Probably outlast me by far. All for $25 shipped on eBay. A new one is about $80.

I've not heard comments like these about the fobus before, but that's probably just because I haven't been paying attention to them.

My dilemma was a desire for a paddle holster, kydex, for the G43.

If glock made one (like they do for all the other models, except the 43 and 42) I'd be on it in a second.

Hopefully the fobus I ordered isn't as bad as some make it sound...

Received mine today for my 43.

Should note, I got the 'version 2' (or ND), which from pics on Amazon, appears longer and bigger than the original version. Once the retention screw was released a little, and if you deliberately draw the gun, no problem at all.

It's a thick holster, so it must be some kind of plastic and not the thin kydex I'd prefer. But it's not bad. Covers the entire barrel.

Definitely happy with it, and Amazon price is very good.
