Here's one for FN fans.

I was at a conference today. One of the vendors who set up at the show was FN. They had this very cool PDW version of the SCAR - the SCAR-SC.

Unfortunately, there was no range and I couldn't shoot. It felt balanced and great to handle - though the stock was a bit short even when fully extended.

The charging handle can be set to either reciprocate or not. This is HUGE advance I think as I hate the reciprocating charging handle on the other SCARs. They said that it is likely that this feature may be incorporated in future SCAR models.

The internals that made this possible were very interesting. They asked me not to take photos of them though.

Here are some pics of the gun...

Very cool, I would consider getting one if I wouldn't have to mortgage my house... lol!!

It’s been around for a while now but FN has yet to show any intention of selling it as a pistol for the US civilian market.

This is the first time that I've seen one, but I don't follow all of their products. This one has an pretty early SN but that figures for a demo gun.

I certainly don't see this one coming anytime soon.

Of course, the gun in the photo is a select fire PDW version.

One thing that I've never understood about the SCAR is why on all of these select fire ones that I've seen the uppers and lowers match in color but they do not match on any of the semis. I wonder why yfn can't just make the semis match.

So they can be told apart

That would then make the scar system unique. It's not as if with other weapons systems from other companies select fire and semi autos have different colored receivers. I've asked the FN raps about this multiple times in multiple conferences and none of them have any idea why it is the case.

That's cool. But like all the AR "pistols" and .223 bullpups; I wouldn't want to touch that off without a suppressor. OUCH!

Would definitely be loud but totally controllable
