First fondle of one of these yesterday. Better trigger than FN 509 or 510 on side by side comparison. Seems like FN is late on the micro-nine scene but at least they came with a strong contender.

Anybody have a Reflex and care to share?

I've handled one and briefly considered it thinking that the FN might (?) be a slightly better product then the SIG P365.

But in the end, I decided not to jump ship for two reasons.

First, FN pistols seem to be an afterthought to their product line and the P365 has become so ubiquitous that it should continue to have use & support, both factory and aftermarket, for many more years to come.

And, second, the SIG has more options for use in terms of options/modularity (slide lengths, porting, grip modules, safety option, etc).

Still, the Reflex seems like an excellent pistol.

I got one to try out. Handled it for 5 mins and put it back in the box and sold it. Didn't like the grip at all. Felt a little thin and worse than the original P365 to me.

Sold my 365 and hellcat after buying a reflex. As always, ymmv. Had the hellcat had a different factory optic cut i may have just kept it, but i didnt want to modify the slide or use a shim so away it went.

Holding the sig and reflex together, the fn feels a bit nicer and has an excellent trigger. Some may find the trigger too light for carry. Its snappy, id say the 365 was the smoothest of the 3 in terms of muzzle flip, then the reflex then the hellcat.

My reflex fit my hellcat holster fwiw.

If you already have an established set up of holster and mags for a specific gun, I wouldnt jump on the reflex unless you just love it for some reason. In all reality all three guns did the same thing almost equally as well as the next.

I think FN blew it with the internal hammer. Should have kept it external like normal. I had a 509 once and broke the firing pin dry firing. I used snap caps or an I-Target. Gun never shot a live round and I sent it back.

My Reflex is on its way back because my front sight tritium went dead after the first few magazines. Other than that my initial impression was good, shoots where aimed and tiny tiny which is why I bought it.

It won't be my primary EDC that goes to my Hellcat Pro and X Macro but the Reflex I need for the days I need to show no printing at business Christmas parties and meetings.

Hope FN turn around is good, recently I had to send that X Macro back for a bad front and rear sight and I had it back in my hands 5 days after shipping it.

Well I ended up not going the route of the Reflex. Reason being that I bit on a FN 509 cc Edge instead. It was a good deal and FN also has a rebate of $125 running through 12/31 so out the door was $976.61. Only $47.61 more than the FN 509c Tactical on the shelf.

At that price, the too expensive argument is moot. The trigger is a flat faced upgrade, Apex seems to retail around $160. Nice tall suppressor height sites with fiber optic front.

Gold trimmings are not my favorite but I'm always willing to go with function over looks.

Everything reported about this piece appears accurate:

Expensive MSRP
Requires break in period of 400+ rounds of 124gr ammo. 115gr will cause FTF with the comp on if not properly broken in
Excellent expensive drop free weighted mags
RDS setup to accommodate all footprints
Many folks would probably prefer a 509c Tactical with a trigger upgrade, if they have suppressors, etc.

Break in period is my only real qualm cause I can take a G43x, G48 or P365 off the shelf and can be 99% certain it will go bang whereas this one does not exhibit 100% reliability out of the box. Once broken in and running like a sewing machine, the 509 cc Edge will go into the rotation.

Never had any issues with my 509t and the optics mounting system is excellent. My only gripe was the trigger, it was awful for a gun of that price. I added an mcarbo trigger spring kit and it made a noticable difference if you dont want to fork over the $ for an apex.

Thinking about a new carry gun. The FN Reflex is interesting. I already use a Hellcat, just looking to add to the rotation. The Reflex has a better trigger than the Hellcat but other than that it's very similar. One is hammer fired vs striker fired but size, weight, capacity is very similar. Not interested in P365s or Sheild plus. It's down to the Reflex or the G43x. Anyone here have a Reflex? What are your thoughts? Good or bad. Thanks

I bought one recently and put it through its paces at the range.

The trigger is the best you can get in a modern micro 9 smooth and almost too light.
Recoil impulse is similar to a G43 and slightly more comfortable than a Hellcat for me. (which is to say, manageable with a bit of flip)
Accuracy is very good. I was ringing 6" steel plates at 25 yards easily.
Unlike a Glock, you don't need a six-o'clock hold. It hits where the front sight is sitting.
I've put about 250 rounds through it in one range session without cleaning. I fired Blazer Brass, +P Gold Dots (124), standard pressure HSTs (124) and my reloads loaded to the bleeding edge of +P. All fed, fired and ejected without issue using all three magazines I have, both 11 and 15 rounders.

I am very happy with it. After another uneventful range session I will carry it when I can't conceal my Glock 29.
Suffice it to say, I'm very happy with mine and it will be a carry gun for me. And I don't like the idea of a carry gun "rotation" but this one is worthy.

ETA: I didn't buy a 365 because it doesn't fit my hand, it's way too small. The grip on this gun doesn't make you feel like you're trying to control a pencil under recoil. Again, great gun for its intended use.

Yes

That doesn’t mean the Hellcat isn’t snappy, but I find it more pleasant to shoot than the Reflex
Interesting. I had the opposite experience. The Reflex felt more pleasant than the Hellcat for me, although the grip texture is more aggressive.
The only thing I don't like about the gun is the name... LOL.

Honestly, just handling it at the LGS, it feels fantastic in my hand, and the trigger is just butter (for what it is). However, I'm quite happy with my 365, so I left it there.

That's kinda how I felt.

Size and capacity were on par with the P365 I already have. And since I don't mind the shape and feel of the SIG (I actually prefer it over most other options), buying the FN would gain me nothing but cost me the added price of new holsters and spare magazines.

Exactly!
