I know there have been some discussions about the new Bumpski stock by Fostech recently. The videos that have been posted are somewhat vague in detail, they only show a bump fire stock working as it should. But if you're like me, you've wondered what the stock looked like up close and wanted more details about the features.

I'm here to help.

Here are some detailed shots of the new stock. I had a chance to shoot this stock on several rifles at SHOT Show 2012. There are only two in existence right now (with a bunch in production) and I was lucky enough to convince the guys as Fostech I was worthy to take one home with me from the show for review. Weather permitting we will be shooting a video of this new stock on Saturday.

Enough talking, here's some detailed shots to chew on.

The stock has some cool features. The two things that jump out at me the most are the all metal construction and the fact you can use your own pistol grip. Another neat feature is the fact you will be able to use the same stock with different rifles. The plan is to make adapter plates for other popular rifles including the AR15 which will allow you to slide your existing stock on the rifle. That way you only have to purchase the most expensive piece once, the stock itself.

I'll post the video review of the Bumpski shortly.

From what you can tell, would this stock work with an AMD-65 AK??
Since a AMD-65 uses a wire stock I would say no. You would have to mod it. I think the Bumpski is neat and fun, but it costs $450. Then consider you can dump $6 worth of ammo in a few seconds. For $450 I think it should have a select fire option with a 2 shot, 3 shot, and full auto.

Considering that the BATFE classified a shoe string as a machine gun, I can't help but wonder how long it will be for this to get on their radar?

It's not under their radar, they've approved several stocks using this principal. They're well aware of it. The shoe string attached to the charging handle enabled the rifle to pull it's own trigger. The bumpfire stocks require the shooter to pull the trigger themselves.

Thanks P.K. - I purchased a BumpMaster - he has a model that's specific to an AMD-65 - $225 - haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I hope to get it exercised a bit this weekend. It's made of some type of composite material, and it appears to be sturdy enough from what I can see now - while I'd appreciate something that's "all metal", for me the extra $200 is a bit much.

Seems like there are more bumpfire "devices" showing up all the time.
