Fiber optic front for Beretta 92FS?

A buddy of mine recently picked up a Beretta 92 FS (Italian made, not US) for a good price, and was wondering if there was a way to put on a fiber-optic front sight (he likes the Hi-Viz I put on my G34). I tried going to Midway (usually one of my first stops) but no front sights for that model gun (other than replacements for the original manufacture ones). I took a look at the gun itself during a basic field strip and unfortunately it looks like the front sight is part of the slide (if there is a tiny screw underneath, I can't see it).

Has anyone ever done an aftermarket mod to put such a sight in on this type of gun?

Someone has made a FO front sight at the Beretta forum - for 92 variants that have a dovetailed sight.

I would HIGHLY recommend you not even try that on a standard 92. If you mess up and break the front sight off, you are screwed. If ya REALLY want to, I'd say - get a beat up slide off the beretta forum for like $100 or so, and practice with it first

No, not him. A very good smith or company like tool tech though.

OP option B, would be find a vertec or brigadier slide

Spoke w/ my friend and we're keeping it stock. Even if we had a gunsmith do the job perfectly, I told him it would likely hurt any resale of the gun having the front sight drilled and replaced w/ a FO.

Basically, we got the gun NIB in a FTF for $500, which looked like a pretty good deal. The FO issue didn't come up until we took it to the range and compared multiple pistols.
