I'm gonna try to make this quick im on my lunch break.
I just picked up some snap caps for my G17 Gen4 which is a great shooting gun but does have some extraction and or ejection issues not sure which. It has the 336 ejector, "dipped" extractor and the 042 RSA.
When I got home I ran the snap caps threw it at slow and fast speeds by sling-slotting the slide (trying to resemble live round slide speeds as much as possible) and the extraction is great every time, strong, and very consistent to the right. This has me wondering, maybe were not really dealing with a ejector/extractor issue's.
I need to watch old gen3 9mm glocks being fierd in slow motion compaired to the gen4's to see if the new RSA's are actually changing the guns behavior under live fire recoil and possibly causing the rounds to extract erratically? I dunno maybe im over thinking this, maybe im not. But after doing my snap cap test I really want to rule out the bad ejector and or extractor possibility. But please try the snap cap test and tell me how it works for ya..
Has anyone tried this? If so please tell me your results.
Please check back for video.
