Do you have enough ammo?

Do you have enough ammunition to survive if all hell breaks loose?
Do you know someone who doesn't?

I have been thinking about this for a while. There is enough guns in the USA to fend off an invasion or have a revolution, but so many people I know have less than a box of ammo on hand. Even gun people talk about going to the store before they go to the range.

Bluffing your way out of a situation with an empty gun sucks.
The national guard was deployed with no ammo to a recent event. IF you needed to take over, you just needed to capture one gun and have ammo for it.

So...
If you don't have ammo enough go out and BUY AMMO NOW.
If you have a friend that always need to go to the store before going to the range or hunting or ... buy them a box for their birthday, Christmas, 4th of July present....

But I don't know what to get them....
The most common gun is a 22LR. Assuming they have one of those, a brick of 22LR would be nice.

Premium ammo, vs. range stuff...
If you are buying for someone else, I would suggest range ammo.
Lots of people have died after being shot with a regular old 38SP lead bullet or FMJ 9mm or even the lowly 32.

Good one, no one ever has enough ammo.

There is "enough ammo" vs. "ENOUGH AMMO".

No one has ENOUGH AMMO that they never have to worry about it every again.
What I am suggesting is that you load up all your mags and have enough to do it again.

But what amazes me is that, most people don't have enough ammo to shoot the bad guy who entered their home, or go to the range, or shoot an animal for dinner or ....

And if you have an outdated cartridge (or your friends do), now is the time to find ammo for that gun also.
That 5.6x50 that you don't use very often.
That 300 Savage that your brother in law has but doesn't use.
That 38-40 that grandad's grandad bought new before the west was one....
Even that little 25ACP that is not good for much.
Be ready to feed all the rifles enough to take care of business if needed.

I've got over 10K rounds of .22lr and enough suppressor hosts and parts to last my lifetime.

So yes, in most circumstances I do. I can carry THOUSANDS of rounds on my person and take down everything from food sources up to two legged problems.

The real question should be, do folks have enough ammo they can take WITH THEM when you inevitably have to leave your castle.

Me? Yep. I'm good.

You are thinking some grand scheme surviving to the end of the world....
I am thinking much simpler.

How many people have less than a box of ammo?
If tomorrow the gov. said, no more civilian sales....
If tomorrow you needed to hunt your dinner....
If tomorrow the X population decided to attack the Y population....

Heck, if tomorrow you wanted to go to the range and go before the store opens up....

I am saying at least have enough ammo to fill your mags and a box more.

I am not talking about that. I am not talking piles of ammo. I am not talking about enough to trade.
I am talking about having the bare minimum. All your mags loaded and a box more.

And not just you, but your friends, cousin, brother in law, ..... The idea is to give it away now. Be the ammo person. Make the world a little better.

You know, I should figure out how much ammo I actually have... which makes it sound like a lot, but I'd guess it's less than average for the active members of this site.

It isn't about my ammo pile vs. yours.
It is about having enough to fill your mags and having a box more.
Anything beyond that is bonus.

And you must not have been around when Obama took office and everyone was *****ing about not having any ammo. There was none on the shelves and people talked about how they couldn't go to the range because they had no ammo at home and .... People talked about how they were looking ANY ammo because they had no ammo for their gun at all.

This is no different than do you have a fire extinguisher or do you have smoke alarms.

Decide for yourself how many you need and where you need to put them.
But if you know that you don't have a smoke detector or extinguisher.... you know you should.
