Hello everyone,
I don't think that any of you need an introduction to the LE-only glock R models, but for those who don't, the trigger automatically resets so you can do extended dry fire sessions without having to rack the slide every time you press the bang-switch.

Aftermarket reset triggers are available (way overpriced), but I don't want to dry fire my gun with a different trigger-group than I'm using on the range!

YouTube has some DIY methods to make your glock trigger reset, but those also have a different feel.

I really want the realistic and identical take-up, wall, and reset of my glock, as I have had very nice experiences of increased accuracy after dry fire training!

Anyone with a technical background has ideas to adapt my glock to dryfire without racking the slide? Machinist drawings should parts be manufactured are also welcome! However, I will not perform machining on my glock or parts of it!

Many greetings,

Ogimachi

Have you looked at the dry fire magazine?
I got one of these yesterday. They had a Christmas special - I think it was $10 off and free shipping - and another $10 off for instructor discount; which still doesn't make it cheap.

It works pretty well, the trigger break/reset isn't exactly like my stock 34 trigger but I think it is acceptable for its intended purpose. All I did was swap springs in the DFM - so I haven't tried to "tune" it to feel more like the actual trigger break/reset.

I do wish the DFM would drop free so that you could do magazine changes and/or you could use it as the 2nd magazine for an SLR or SR, but it really isn't made for that.

I think anything you do to make a Glock have a non-firing trigger reset will be different than the "trigger group" you use at the range.

It would be interesting to know how, or see one "in hand", the $180'ish reset trigger is different than a stock trigger.

Indeed, would like to see some close up pics of the trigger group! Anyone here on GT has it (or the real G17R) and is willing to post some close-up pics? I don't think the real glock non firing reset trigger feels different. A glock model R costs as much as a fully functional new one. I can't believe a LE agency would pay that much money for a trigger that is not exactly like the real deal. The whole point in using such a trigger is training with the exact same feeling of a shooting glock! Otherwise I might as well use a DA revolver for practicing trigger control!
Please enlighten me with new insights!!!

The only difference in the R guns (as far as the trigger is concerned) is the trigger spring. It's part #2481, and if you look hard enough, you can find them available online.

So I can just swap this handy little $3 spring assembly and I'll have a reset trigger?

That is, if I can find it in stock somewhere.

I used to be an armorer, but it is expired - I wonder if an an armorer can get it without a part exchange or LE letterhead?

At $3 it is almost as cheap as cardboard.

Here is an expensive alternative;

RESET TRIGGER FOR GLOCK: 9MM/.40S&W - GEN 4
$199.00
IN STOCK

"This reset trigger for Glock includes everything you need to use it in 9mm/.40S&W - Gen 4 caliber Glocks.

The kit includes a specially designed striker with a modified trigger bar and trigger housing. This gives you an automatically resetting realistic trigger pull allowing for rapid shot after shot practice. When used in conjunction with a SureStrike laser cartridge, the system will project a laser dot to your target with each and every shot, no matter how fast you pull the trigger. The Glock Reset Trigger is a drop in system that can be installed into your existing gun in just a few minutes with no special fitting required."

But if you use an aftermarket connector you could replace the existing connector to approximate the feel of existing trigger.
