Kimber Mako and S&W CSX. Not much talk here or on the Sig forum .about these two newer pistols.

I thought the CSX was kinda neat, but not enough to buy one.
I agree. I handled one at the gun show Saturday and it felt really good. It is kind of like a double stack Sig P938. I like the single action trigger (couldn't test it at the gun show), but I've read there are re-set issues. Since I have a Sig P938, and P365 I can't justify buying one.

Big, small, medium, medium-small, single stack double stack, 1.5 stack, metal, plastic, back to metal again, short barrel long grip, long grip short barrel.
Gunmakers are running out of opportunities for novelty.

I really am not sure how they are going to convince people to buy a new pistol every year in the upcoming years, but I'm sure they will find a way.

Government contract where the government actually acknowledges that a militia is necessary to the security of a free state and therefore provides for a sidearm and long gun for every citizen once they reach the age of 18.

that would do it

That extremely unlikely scenario might call for a large run of a particular model of pistol.
It wouldn't require gun manufacturers dreaming up a half dozen new models every year.. that's just vanity and marketing at this point

.gov could choose 5 pistols and 10 long guns as options for the citizens choice…

I’ve never seen a Kimber mako in person but I see their 1911’s and micro 9’s all the time. I think it might unwillingness on the part of the dealer to stock it as the dealer doesn’t want to stock pistols that they might not feel would sell.
I’ve handled the CSX. Felt good in the hand and liked the fit and finish. Trigger was heavy and no factory night sight option. If both of those items were addressed I would add it to my collection

I handled the S&W at a gun shop and it felt good. Then I thought of the Springfield Armory Hellcat that I already own and couldn't see the Smith.

LMAO. Wow.

The Switzerland syndrome. I wouldn't mind an M19 pistol and M5 rifle in the collection at government expense.

The CSX is a nice size and has good ergonomics and would have been a great gun if it had been a NORMAL single action that could be safely carried cocked and locked with a light, crisp, trigger pull. But instead it had a trigger pull that was no better than a striker fired trigger and had an unnecessary trigger dingus on it like a striker fired pistol. Come on, Smith and Wesson, make up your minds! do you want to make a single action pistol or not?

The Kimber Mako really didn't have anything going for it other than being a truly compact size (pocket carry size?) but is somewhat ugly to look and has an internal extractor that might cause problems and has already been recalled for firing pin safety block issues. But the S&W was a HUGE disappointment to someone who would absolutely love a subcompact gun that could be carried cocked and locked, with it's bogus trigger.
