I recently picked up a another Diamondback DB380.....this one was the most recent production. Serial Number ZA582X. The things I immediately noticed were the following-
- Feed Ramp is mirror polished from the factory.
- Mag release is now black in color, and seems to be solid steel, rather than MIM.
- The fit and finish of the gun seems much better compared to my ZA174x DB380.
Today at the range, I put the following through it with no FTFeed, FTFire, or any trigger reset or mag drop issues.
Three 20 round boxes of Speer Gold Dot 90gr HP
Three 50 round boxes of PMC Bronze 90gr FMJ
One 50 round box Winchester White Box
Two 20 round boxes of Magtech Guardian Gold HP
Six rounds of Hornady Critical Defense FTX
Overall rounds put through it were 305 rounds, with no malfunctions. The slide to frame fit is tight, and is possibly a reason why Diamondback recommends breaking it in with 200 rounds.
Recoil is pronounced with the Hornady Critical Defense rounds, but the DB380 gulped them up with no problem. One thing I found with the DB380, is that its easy to limpwrist the little gun if your not careful
I'll put another 200 rounds through it when I get some more .380.....its rather plentiful around here, so I'll get some more.
