I recently picked up a CZ P01 that has a decocker that you can swap for a safety.
Does anyone use a decocker over a safety on a DA/SA?
On a daily basis, how do you use it?
I’m going to switch to a safety as soon as I can because my normal 1911 thumb position pushes on the safety which in this case decocks the hammer and I wouldn’t want to do that in a stress situation.
But I’m having a hard time understanding when I would want a decocker rather than a safety on a handgun like this.
Can people discuss the scenarios where they would rather have a decocker over a safety?
EDIT:

I guess it’s for people who want to carry DA but don’t feel comfortable manually decocking.
