I bought a Dan Wesson Razorback 10mm today...I got it at a very reasonable price....I shot 4 magazines through it without a hiccup, took it apart and cleaned it...going to do the same tomorrow...

It's funny, but spec sheets from Dan Wesson for this pistol and from Armscor for their 10mm 1911 show they weigh the same, however, the DW 1911 feels lighter, maybe it just balances better..Also, it breaks down like a standard 1911. I don't have to paperclip the recoil spring like I do for my RIA.

I'm unsure how old this pistol is, it doesn't have the RZ prefix to the serial number but I don't see any CZ markings on it either, and DW was bought out by them a few years ago..however the sticker on the box says 2/10/2020...so I'm guessing that is at least the date of shipping...

Sweet! One of my favorite pistols.
I have a few 10mm DW’s, all awesome.

Enjoy it in the best of health, cheers! 🍻

Oh, and pics... come on man! 😜

Quick pic...the picture in the background was painted by my soon-to-be daughter-in-law...it's from a snapshot of some nose art on an F-105 I saw years ago...the DW 1911 is so nice..I'm going to try some different brands of ammo tomorrow...

I got a like new DW valor 10mm today, exactly 50 rounds down the tube. Been itching to try a DW. Have several kimbers and Springfields, but this is a first DW. Its tight, and I was surprised by the trigger on it. Best factory trigger I think I’ve had in my hand. I generally always get a trigger job on my 1911,s, but may not on this one. Going to try to hit the range with it this weekend

Well, I got four more magazines through it yesterday with some S&B ammo I had around...no hiccups...very accurate...I was hitting small rocks in a ditch bank at 25 yards with ease...also, the trigger is excellent.

I have one small gripe the barrel bushing is not easy to remove, it takes some work to turn it and pull it out...my Sig C3 is machined a little better I think..but I think this will smooth out..my pistol is not 18 months old, (DW answered my email). So it needs some breaking in.

Like a lot of my pistols I was thinking of changing grips, but these are really perfect as they are, just the right amount of bite to hang onto.

It will get easier. Keep feeding it. Another 500 rounds should do the trick.

OK, just put 3 magazines of 200 grain Blazer aluminum cased ammo through it,,,it doesn't like it..at all. The first magazine went fine, but the 2nd two, I had a number of FTEs....and the ammo was all bent up on the end, so I figure there was a FTF also. The chamber is terribly dirty, so I'm sure that had something to do with it. I bought a few boxes of this stuff awhile back because it was so cheap. It shoots fine in my nephew's G20 and my G29, not so much in a 1911.

I'm going back to the S&B and my reloads....

I've had two DW's. The first was a 10mm bobtail from 2009ish. The slide froze to the frame after the third shot...with a round in the chamber. DW admitted they had galling issues with some of their stainless steel batches. Sold it. I was scared to buy a DW again for 10 years. Finally gave in and got a DW Valor Commander 10mm. The thing shot point of aim out of the box, one of three guns I've ever bought new that did. Shot everything I could feed it...for about three mags. If I cleaned it, ran flawless again until about three mags. Figured out the chamber was too tight as rounds would stick in it when it got dirty. Took it to a Luke Volkmann. He reluctantly agreed to look at it, said it was my ammo. Then he measured the chamber and agreed it was too small. He figured the reamer DW was using was at the end of it's life and had worn a little too much. He recut the chamber and it's been an honest 100% since, with two caveats. I need to use Tripp Research Cobra mags, with them it will feed FMJ, HP, and even 200gr. lead hard cast without an issue. Second issue is loading it 9+1. The +1 sometimes causes a failure to feed on the first round in the mag. It's now one of my favorite pistols.

The DW Razorback is probably my favorite pistol. I was in the group on 1911 forum that DW solicited input from and then we were the first to get them. Mine is #67 of 150 (year I was born). It has a lot of rounds through it and still runs like a top. One Elk, a few Deer and a lot of fun. I took off the factory grips to keep them pristine. Had a SIG C3 too, good pistol, but I never shot it. It is on consignment at the LGS.

Critch- DW chambers are pretty tight. Using a chamber brush and really keeping it clean should help out.
