So I am a longtime glock and 1911 guy. Glock cause they work 1911 because the are cool.
Long story short I was looking at some bhp's to fill the 9mm void in my cool gun collection... which got me looking at cz-75's. Then I stumbled upon the P-07.
My initial impression is this has shades of everything I like in a handgun.
So will I be disappointed? It will be a carry and range piece.

Great gun, but after comparing with the Sig M11A1\P229 and the HK P2000 I sold it. The latter two for some reason felt more comfortable to carry. The CZ ejected brass more forcefully than any other gun I have ever tried. Proved to be annoying at my indoor range where the brass would ricochet off the dividing wall and into my head...lol

My new favorite is the HK P2000, but that varies depending on what side of the bed I wake up on.

I bought a p07 out of impulse and I feel like I made a great choice. I like the trigger, because its smooth and the reset isn't very long at all. It is also a pretty easy shooting gun. I can also shoot it better than my glock, which is disappointing because I have invested so much time into my glock by trying to get better at shooting with it.

The P07 and P09 are probably the best dollar for dollar values in handguns at the moment. I actually like them better than the standard metal CZ's (the worked over non-FP block guns are another story).

The P-09 gets more impressive with each range trip. So far it has operated without fail, eats all types of ammo and accurate shot placements are easily achieved. It has become my home defense handgun. It has the CGW trigger kit and just recently I fitted a threaded barrel and installed the tall sights. I would guess you would get similar performance from the slightly smaller P-07. These are excellent pistols, especially for the money.

That's one of the things I like the most about my P-09, unlike my Glock on occasion, I never get BTF with the CZ.

I'm still looking for a P2000 V2 LEM locally to handle, I'm not opposed to buying one without handing it, but it would sure would be nice to see it in person first.

I have both the P-07 and P-09. I like the P-09 better as it seems to balance better in my hand. I have shot it in Production Division many times and no malfunctions yet. I purchased it direct from Cajan Gun Works all ready set up for Production and I must say David does a great job.

Picture a G19 but with a hammer. Shorter reach to the trigger and it doesn't have that stupid trigger safety. Also comes with replaceable back straps. Needless to say, I use the small...lol

I think the biggest adjustment will come with getting used to the mag release being on the trigger guard.

Right, I think that's my biggest point of apprehension there is with the mag release. I'm sure I can get used to it though. The nice thing is I can practice with that at home.

I'm just a huge fan of CZ; they just make world class handguns. If you're a fan of traditional DA autos (and I fall in that category), then you'd have a hard time finding a better pistol than a CZ.
Yep, I agree. I'm waiting on my next purchase until I'm able to get a hold of a new P-01 Convertible in person. It may be my next gun purchase. Plus I already have the thin copper CZC grips ready to go on it.
