Had one years ago, but sold it stupidly. I picked this standard (not Omega) up a few days ago. It is a dream to handle, but the trigger could use some CGW attention.

I just added the cheap thin grips, wanting to see if the slim profile is worthwhile. For carry, yes. But I think some heavily textured palm swell G10s would be excellent.

These are super low priced right now. I got this for just under $500 plus shipping. I'd recommend picking up the CZ of your choice while prices are rock bottom.

I was considering the P-01 and P-07. I also went with the P-01. Local place had manufacturer reps in, and 10% off on those brands. Talked to the CZ rep for a minute. I paid $610 plus tax, I'm sure I could have done better, but just didn't spend the time on researching it like I usually do for a gun purchase.

I believe they discontinued the Omega version.

Rep gave me a hat and range bag.

I believe you're correct about the Omega.

That looks nice. So, is it basically a 75 with an alloy frame instead of steel? And a rail?
75 has a longer barrel. P-01 & PCR are compact models of the 75.

The P-01 is a really nice DA/SA package. I was really considering one, but ended up with an Sig M11-A1. I may still be getting one…it is a really brilliant package with a great feel. The only reason I went with the Sig was the 20 years I spent with a P220 when I was in the security business (I prefer the Sig decocker).

That's a great pistol too of course. I have a P229, which in comparison to the P-01 has a higher quality feeling. More refined and slightly better stock trigger. Though ergonomics are not as good for me. And hitting the decocker requires shifting my grip. But it is one of my favorites.

I recently acquired the Omega version. I bought it used, but it came with the CGW trigger and hammer upgrade. So all in all it was a great deal. I upgraded the sights to Truglo tritium and I’m very happy with it.
Congrats to you on your new purchase!

I’d like one. The 75 compact doesn’t feel right in my hand but the P01 seems to feel fine. Not sure if there actually is a difference but to me it’s striking.

P01 is a great gun. Unfortunately mine is in the safe maybe looking for a new home!

The rep had a 75 compact, I held it, and thought it felt good, but noticed the weight. He did not have a P-01, so I couldn't handle them at the same time. It was probably 15 minutes before I handled the P-01 at the gun counter, felt the same as far as I could tell.

The ones you handled might have had different grip panels?

The shape of the grip on the P-07 was an instant no from me as soon as I picked it up.

See, for me the P07 is perfect. I miss that one, I really should buy another

Just picked up a factory ODG version with a bunch of extras locally. No mods except for a set of Dawson Precision fiber optic sights and a CHW firing pin retaining pin. I’ll probably add a set of springs from either MCarbo or CGW to help out the D/A pull but it’s actually not that bad to start with.
