No, I haven’t bought it yet, but would like to hear from you good folks that EDC a Glock 45 or 45 MOS, how do you conceal it? Appendix carry, 3:00, 4:00, shoulder carry? Other? Also, what holster are you using?

I am a 6 foot tall 68 year old man that has a size 42 waist and weigh 255 lbs, so not a small guy nor an extremely obese person either. I need some ideas please.

Thanks,
Joe

So, I ccw a 17, not a 45, but it’s the same grip size, just a longer tube. OWB 3:00-4:00.

Wright Leather Predator, Milt Sparks Axiom, Galco Combat Master or Ritchie CQ-QR. Those are all leather. Belt is either a Galco SB7, Hanks Premier, or A&G Gunleather.

I’m 6’5” 260, 38 inch waist. The 17 conceals fine under a baggy xxl carhartt t-shirt. It’ll print a little if I’m bending over, but I don’t care. I’m retired LE so I probably notice it more than most folks just going about their day.

Depending on weather, dress and level of concealment needed, I carry a G17 MOS with Surefire X300u OWB strong side in a Raven Concealment Perun holster or I pop the light off and carry it appendix IWB in a modified Comp-Tac MTAC.

I’m similar height and a little bit lighter but I carry mine 12:30’ish in a Dark Star Gear G17 Orion holster. I can conceal easily with just a tee shirt and the longer length keeps it pressed into my beer belly. IWB conceals pretty well around 4 o’clock if I’m wearing untucked shirt or sweatshirt, but it will print if you bend over.

G45 is my most CCW pistol. The first thing you need is a good belt. I like nexbelt the most. I use a Tier 1 concealer axis elite for my G45 and it is very comfortable and concealable. I am
Posting a link to my sidecar holster comparison. There are some pictures included so you can see how well these holsters work

I'm 6'0" and 245 lbs.

I've carried a Glock 19 for a couple of decades, usually in a IWB holster at 4-4:30 o'clock. Currently I'm using a JM Custom Kydex "Tom Givens" holster (which is essentially the "IWB 3" holster with a 20-degree cant). Prior to the JMCK holster I carried it in a Milt Sparks "Executive's Companion" IWB holster.

I also carry the G19 AIWB when the IWB doesn't conceal well with my clothing. I've tried several different AIWB holster setups in attempt to find something comfortable:
  • Tenicor "VELO 4"
  • Keepers Concealment "The Cornerstone"
  • Keepers Concealment "The Keeper"
  • JMCK "Wing Claw 2.5"
I finally settled on the JMCK Wing Claw 2.5, with a Mastermind Tactics "Specialist Pro" AIWB belt, and Mastermind Tactics AIWB pillow.

I've learned that AIWB gear is 180-degrees opposite of what you'd use for OWB and IWB. For example:
  • A larger pistol is easier to carry and conceal.
  • A flexible belt is better than a heavy rigid belt, because the flexible belt flows around the holster contours, minimizing bulk, and allows it to flex with your body.
  • An AIWB holster that's molded to accommodate a WML is more comfortable because it has more surface area which minimizes "hotspots". The downside is the WML feature is what retains the gun in the holster - so you have to have a light on the pistol.
  • You need pants that fit correctly in the waist because the pants help carry and distribute the load of the pistol. If the waist is too loose then you'll have problems with how your pants "carry" the gun.

The Mastermind Tactics "pillow" is much more comfortable than a foam wedge. The pillow is attached onto the muzzle end of the AIWB holster and rides against your groin to push the grip of the pistol into your abdomen.

So... if you're thinking about AIWB carry then expect to do some trial and error to find the equipment that works best for you. I nearly gave up until I tried the Wing Claw 2.5.

Finally, sometimes I'll carry the G19 in a JMCK "OWB 1" holster at 3:00 o'clock when I'm wearing a light jacket to conceal it.
