I've never had a magnum colt revolver before, a buddy got this in on trade today picked it up for $400. Don't know how good the price was , but hey it's a magnum and I added it to my 9 S&W magnums. Feels a lot like a k frame S&W in my hand

Serial number decodes to 1969, I didn't realize it was that old when I bought it:dancing:

If you decide that you don't want it let me know. That was my first gun.
Mine too. It was also the first gun I carried as a police officer. My dad got it for me from a recommendation he got. The guns are built like a tank very sturdy!

The gun was clean when I got it but I took off the side plate and grips and the action was dry. Now with some mobil-1 lube it is smooth

First revolver I set the barrel back on because of
a split in the forcing cone.

Got it for 125 dollars and sold it for 150 or 175,
can't fully remember, that was in 1987, first year
in gunsmith school.

If you see one with about 5/8'' missing off the
back of the barrel, that may be it. It is missing
some of the writing on the barrel.

It was a good project gun for a new gunsmith.

Started out (1970’s) with a mk. lll in 6”. Shot a LOT of .38’s and .357’s. I was 18. I let a friend have it for his son maybe ‘78 or so. That little fella was assistant chief last time I looked for him. Guess he did ok.

Miss that gun. We grew a lot together. It taught me to shoot pistols. To reload. And to use those new things, hearing protectors!!! .357’s are LOUD.
