Some of you have no doubt already done this. Anyways, I called the tech dept in Georgia as asked if Glock would..even if it was a pay for modification... install a manual safety (thumb safety) to existing Glocks without manual safeties.

He was polite but NO was still the answer.

I think there are two places that make manual safety 'kits...one place for sure... but it's on the owner to install them. I would suspect it would void the warranty.

Why not just buy another pistol with a safety?

An M&P springs to mind.

Or if you really want a Glock, buy a kit and do it yourself, it's not hard. Plus you get the added benefit of pissing off the "keep it stock" boys on here. That brings up another question, was the 19X that was submitted for the Army trials that HAD a safety really a stock Glock?

No, it was a pathetic nod to the us military, who thought they needed a manual safety. Somehow, the British, who have hardly any firearms experience amongst their service member trainees, are able to deal with standard G17’s.

The glock warranty isnt lifetime anyway, so unless your Glocks are less than a year old that doesnt really matter.
Though, Glock did give me new night sites on my G26 after 3 years. :)

I am not a manual safety guy but I could see an argument for them in the military. The argument would have nothing to do with safety but instead consistency of training.

Since the primary weapon system (rifle) has a selector/safety, I could see the benefit of the mantra, on target, safety, trigger, safety, off target, being consistent across the various issued weapon systems.

With so many other great options out there with thumb safeties, I personally don’t understand spending extra money to put one on.

I’d prefer a model with an OEM design and not aftermarket to avoid stacking tolerances and possibly adding issues with reliability.

Probably go M&P or 320 if I wanted a thumb safety on a striker gun (which I don’t) or track down a Ruger SR9c

Bill Wilson would gladly put a manual safety on a single stack 9mm that weighs 53oz. for $3,500
He does offer some double stack options quite Glock 19 sized and only 4 oz heavier, and at the low cost of $2400-2800 if you shop around :)

Here's the info:
Ten-Ring Precision, Inc.
1449 Blue Crest Lane
San Antonio, TX 78232
alex@tenring.com

Glock Thumb Safety installed for $115.00 + shipping (not available for Gen 5, G42 & G43.

Hope this helps
I used to buy my USFA Single Action Army's from Ten Ring Precision, Inc. Damn highest quality SAA's ever built. God would carry one of those. And Ten Ring could get one when others didn't have any chance.
Never occurred to me might do custom work on Glocks.
I have two g19s. I thought I 'might' have a manual safety put on one.

Thanks, Tinyman...appreciate it.

I called Porsche last week to ask if they would put a Chevy V8 engine in my car.
Guess what they said?

I was not surprised, but posting it here, FYI.
That is funny, I don't care who you are! :ROFLMAO:

While I got your attention...Jesus loves YOU dude...check him out.
Have a good day ~! (y)
