This weekend I went over to Cabela's in Louisville and stopped by the gun counter to browse. I immediately noticed that every handgun in their cases had a trigger lock in it which they had not done in the past. I asked to look at a particular revolver, which the clerk got out and showed to me. I asked if he could remove the trigger lock to let me test the trigger and he said he couldn't. He said it was a store policy that had been in place for a few weeks. The only consolation is I don't buy guns at Cabela's, I only handle them there and then find a real price on one elsewhere. I guess it's not a real loss for them since I don't buy there anyway but it's a bit insane to overprice guns and then not even let someone test the trigger. I know some stores don't want 1911's dry-fired, but revolvers...? Come on.
