Nope, not even close to normal, but easy to fix - just need a block to support the A-frame, a roll pin punch, and a small hammer. Bushmaster isn't exactly known for exceptional quality control.
We have a forum specifically dedicated to ARs, you know.[/
I've never taken apart the gas tube, is there a risk it is not aligned or in place before I knock it back in?
Check under the handguard, too. The tube (if followed from the A-frame) should run level for a few inches, then angle upwards (towards the top of the receiver), and level off again before going into the upper. If it doesn't look like that, the tube might be turned 180 degrees. The roll pin will still go in, but it will turn your rifle into a single-shot, if the bolt will even go into battery at all.Look from the other side,......hole in fsb should align with the gas tube
Most gun stores will tell you to contact the manufacturer, unfortunately. Either way, best of luck to you. If you need further help, toss a post in the Black Rifle Forum.I think I better take this into the place I bought it
I was referring to the Black Rifle Forum, 2 forums below this one in the index.I did try to post on gate forum. One more thing, even if this pin is placed, given that it is now out, is it possible it will come out when I shoot?
Again,:upeyes::upeyes:If not, I expect this shoddy work from Sig...
When Bushmaster screws up as infrequently as Colt does, let me know.If it was missed on a Colt, it would just be a manufacturing mistake.
If it's missed on a Bushmaster, it's automatically junk.

Lighten up, I was actually giving just making a comment on how QC has gone done in many manufactures. You are right though, I wanted a colt, but they were all sold out!Again,:upeyes::upeyes:
I've had and have quite a few Bushy's and I'm yet to see all these so called, "Problems" that everyone talks about but maybe I just got lucky seven times over the years. :whistling:When Bushmaster screws up as infrequently as Colt does, let me know.
I have, I'm just a little wary as I have never messed around with the gas tube before. Well I called bushmaster this am, tech said just tap it back in. I'll gently try it once supporting the aframe on a phone book, but if it doesn't work, I'll let the gun store do it.Forgive my somewhat oversimplied approach here... Have you considered hammering it back in and if it doesnt stay, replacing it with another $1 roll pin? SDnR
windham weaponryI don't trust the New Bushmasters made by Freedom Arms.
The old Bushmasters made in Maine were of better quality.
The Maine company has re-started and is now operating under a different name but with the same group of former employees. I cannot remember the name of the new company right now.
